There was no excuse for him. Absolutely no reason why he had not responded to the call for Candidates to get onto the Sands. He would have liked to say he was up late the previous night with a foaling mare and was still suffering from sleep deprivation, or that a last minute emergency had pulled him to the stables where he would not have noticed the hustle and bustle of Candidates getting ready. He could not even blame his lateness on Kenna, who, though was usually a troublemaker, had been remarkably docile as of late. Maybe this change in demeanor had been keeping him more on edge than when she was causing trouble. It was unexpected and he was waiting for her to sneak off to steal inordinate amounts of food from the kitchens or terrorize some younger flit.
In the end, though, Tighearnan could not blame anyone but himself. He had slept through the calls, the peals of bells, the excited shouts of readying Candidates. And now he was very late. The young beastcrafter awoke in a flash, the sense of importance looming ominously above him. Kenna yawned and stretched, stirred by his shifting body as he turned himself to get out of bed. She opened an eye sleepily at him, almost seeming to wink mischievously. In an almost prissy manner, she raised her head and began to hum, a thin sound in her throat, but a hum nonetheless. The beastcrafter stared at her for a moment in confusion before it dawned upon him.
The Hatching.
"Shards!" he exclaimed, his voice squeaking in its sleepy dryness. He leapt out of bed, hands clumsily fumbling at the lid of his chest of belongings. He rifled through the contents until he came upon the neatly pressed, properly folded white robe that set the Candidates apart from all of the others attending the Hatching. Hurriedly he stripped himself and threw on the robe, doing his best to smooth out the creases where the garment had been folded. He ran a comb through his hair with a nervously shaking hand, all the while thinking how much trouble he was going to be in when he finally arrived. Everyone would be so disappointed in him. Tighearnan was normally so responsible and punctual and now...he was in danger of missing the whole thing.
To say that the beastcrafter took a breakneck pace down the corridor would not have been completely accurate. Tighearnan was overly cautious and he wouldn't have risked a broken ankle or, even worse, a broken neck for an arrival that would have been a few moments earlier at best. The heat from the Hatching Sands was akin to a punch in the face, knocking him back for a moment before he was able to wrap his still muzzy head around it. A quick glance around told him that five eggs had Hatched already. Which ones? The First Light Egg, the Soft Moss Egg, the Ocean--No that one was a bit lighter and smoother, so it must be another--ah, the Powder Egg, the Savannah Egg and the Forest Fire Egg. So there was still a chance for him. Maybe. He suddenly remembered to pay homage to the queen and her mate, stumbling into a nervous bow to each before he joined the ranks of his fellow Candidates.

The soft moss green had stood in the play legged hatchling ways she watched her shiny, darker green sister bounce off to the row of people stood in white. They were also so clean and white too! How pretty! However, she didn't quite see why it was that she should go over there yet. Whatever it was that Swifth had seen over there, she couldn't see it. So she simply stood, taking in all of the amazing sights around her. It was all so amazing, and big and new! There was a shattering behind her, and she twisted about to see her brother emerging from the remains of his shell. And then she spotted it! Oh it was so shiny!!! It was her sister's egg, and she so desperately wanted to go over there and nudge it. But then again... her brother might not like that. He was protecting her wasn't he? Yes, looked like it. Well then... Oh! But she wanted the shiny! Then the Forest fire bronze was up, and moving, following another brother who had hatched when she wasn't looking. The bronze was going over there too, and the brown! What was it that they all found over there? There wasn't anything over there for her, though she felt like she should have something. It must be the shiny Oak In Autumn egg! It had to be! So, as her brother picked his chosen, she tried to slink off in her hatchling fashion to go and claim the shiny shiny that was her sister. HER sister. Stumbling over her own feet a little, and weaving in and out of the other egg shells, the Soft Moss Green picked her way through in her determination to get to the golden shiny. She paused for a moment to poke at the Dull Copper egg with her paw, causing it to shudder violently, and to sniff at the Blue Moon egg as she went past, also trembling smartly. But they weren't the ones she wanted! She was soon making a beeline once again for the queen egg, determined that it was hers! She was just about to reach it, heedless of her large mother, when a sudden tug made her turn around. She turned herself round to see what it was. It was coming from the people in white! Her eyes looked over them all once again, even though she already had done just before. There! That one was a new face! Oh, and so was that one! Had she seen that one before? Either way, there was definitely a new feeling amongst them, something even more compelling than just before. What had she been doing before? Oh yes! Shiny! She stood, torn, between going to her shiny, and going to what was over there for her. It was a hard choice! Then though, she got a good look at what was hers, when the white robed candidate came into view. HERS! She squeaked in delight in her high pitched hatchling voice, and starting to plough through the other eggs to get to hers. HERS HERS HERS! She bounded over to Tighearnan like an over excited puppy, happy to see its Master once again! Mine! there you are T'nan! You're mine, you're my T'nan! You are Zephyrth's T'nan! she exclaimed happily, before rubbing her head happily against his leg. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Colour: Green (52ba70) Name: Zephyrth Appearance: Zephyrth is of an average build, not as delicate and refined as some, but not as chunky as others. All you need to do then is scale it up, for she's one of the larger examples, being larger than the occasional blue. Her forelegs though, are that little bit too short and she's pitched forward onto her fore hand a lot more than a dragon normally is, meaning she finds if distinctly more difficult to walk along, so when she can she opts to fly. When she does have to walk she has a very pronounced hopping movement and is not what one could call graceful or elegant. Ungainly is the best way to describe her really. Personality: Happy-go-lucky and almost innocent at times, Zephyrth views the world with a child-like fascination and delight. Little things are marvelled at and adored, especially if they're pretty or shiny but of course the big things are just as good. With everything so amazing and wonderful, her attention span is a little short but she doesn't mind. You can't rely on her to remember anything of importance as she is worse than most dragons, but she just gets on with it. If her memory's a little bad so what? Worrying about it won't change that. Better to focus on what's hers. Hers and hers alone! No one can take whatever she claims as hers away from her easily, unless of course you trick her. And with her trusting happy nature she's very gullible. Pair that with her bad memory and you can probably pull the same trick on Zephyrth numerous times in a single day, but she's quite happy to just clamber on with life. Impressed to: Tighearnan (siobhan) Reason: Zephyrth goes to Tighearnan because she is no where near as caught up in the need to make a good first impression as he is. She doesn't judge people like that, and doesn't see why others should either, and in turn will hopefully rub off on Tighearnan. She sees amazement in even the tiniest of things, and will always be there to bolster his confidence and remind him that life is worth living to the full, that he shouldn't be so caught up in worrying. She doesn't see the point in worrying, so why should Hers?

Aethyr didn’t even notice the dark green, until she bumped into her sister. It seemed she was having a hard time getting out over her shell, but after a little more work she flopped out. Aethyr smiled at the dragonets, they were adorable.
The explosion of another egg startled the healer. He instinctively stepped forward slightly just in case it was danger, but he saw it was just another egg. Sighing he relaxed and eyed the new comer. It was a rather dusky bronze, the classic greeny-gold. While the greens were cute Aethyr had hoped to at least Impress brown or bronze. Of course not Impressing and becoming a healer would be just fine too. He seemed to survey his surroundings and turned to the queen egg. It was rocking quite hard now and the Weyr would soon see their new queen.
Before she appeared though a brown made his appearance. He had a rather unique color combination, but small. What he lacked in size, he made up for in energy as he bounded for the candidates. Aethyr felt hope rise as the brown skided to a stop in front of him. The healer did like his coloring and spunk, but the brown wasn’t for him as it clumsily stumbled into its rider’s legs.
Aethyr looked back toward the queen to see the bronze watching him. It was intense enough to make the healer unnerved. The bronze waivered for a moment, his eyes flashing a violent red, before making up his mind. Aethyr was a bit surprised it came straight for him, he seemed to be popular today.
Your Ganymeth has found you now, A'thyr. I'd very much like to stay here and watch my sister hatch, but I feel as if there's something else that I need to do first. Maybe I need to eat something?
A'thyr stood there mute for a moment, while the bronze waited patiently for him to answer. “Um, well yes. That’s what dragonets usually do after Impressing. If you want to wait for your sister I don’t mind.”
His surprise melted into awe. The bronze upon closer inspection was quite large and had unique markings. Best of all though Ganymeth was his, he’d been found worthy by a bronze.
Oh, okay. I’d like to stay. I will eat once she is well. Ganymeth sat down next to A'thyr and turned his eyes back to the rocking queen. A growl rumbled in the dragon’s chest as he noticed his green sister getting ready to touch the queen. He half-rose as if to chase her off, but relaxed when she turned around and ran to her rider.
“Alright.” The healer ran his hand along his bronze’s smooth hide to help calm him, and waited with him.

Five, five dragonets had hatched so far and all five had Impressed. A blue, two greens, a brown and a bronze. It had been interesting to watch the bronze, to see him crooning at the queen egg, to know he was protective of his golden sister her Caro dearly hoped went to a girl other than Kiara. To live in a Weyr with Kiara as Senior Weyrwoman!? It was a fate worse than death and it would be better to go live out in the wild than take her chances with that. Shivering in apprehension as the image rushed through her mind, Caroline let her eyes wander to the said raven-haired girl. Eyebrows furrowed as she realized the girl had had the candidate robe fitted for her, oh how vain! A vain person like that would certainly be the doom of Skyline! Well, perhaps if Kiara did Impress the gold as she was so certain she would, then maybe J'thir and V'lor would be able to get some sense into her. She didn't know, but she hoped it was so.
Sniffing as she felt a vague irritation stir in her chest at the vainness that was Kiara, Caro turned back to the eggs watching them rock back and forth and waiting for the rest to Hatch. Suddenly the ever present question popped into her mind, would she Impress this time? If not this time, then ever? Was she not worthy of any dragon? How could she even think of trying to stand up to Kiara!? She's bound to lose!
Keep thinking like that and you will. the unbiddin thought growled through her mind, clearly another little thought from her subconsious. She really couldn't help thinking these things, it was odd, almost as if she was counseling herself. What was even odder was pretending her subconsious was a dragon. Then she just thought she was going insane.
OOC;; Ack! Sorry for such lateness. ;___; I've had no time to get on except for my lunch period and the library was closed yesterday and I was only running on four hours of sleep anyways... Darn art project isn't even due till Friday now! D< So yea, Caro's first post will be slowly editted in. Btw, the chat box is blocked at my school, sooo I can't talk there. ;__;

Another egg hatched, another impression towards one of her fellow Candidates. The little smile upon her lips was still there, for she did not feel anything but joy from this happy occasion. Sure some candidates would start to get worried about why they haven't impressed yet, or if they would or not or become a disgrace. Linda did not, just being here able to watch the dragons come out of the eggs, their heads weaving to and fro as they searched for the one that would make their life complete. That was all she needed to still her beating heart, though deep down inside one day who knows this time or another she would get someone as close as they did.
"Come on, you can do it little ones, break through your eggs and find your life mates. Start your new and shiny life full of wonder and amazement while people bask in your presence..."
Suddenly though she heard some chattering above her head, quickly she glanced up at the brown and black firelizards diving two and fro above her. "Okay fine if you two are going to be here stay on my shoulder. Don't make a peep, and don't scare any of them!!" Quickly Cad and Po landed onto Linda's shoulders, each wrapped their tails around her neck and quickly tried to use her hair to hide in. Their whole bodies rumbled with the intense hum of encouragement towards the eggs as their eyes swirled happily with greens.

(ugh, failpost after a long day @_@) With the Impression of Zephyrth, an odd sort of calm descended over the hatching sands. Now there were only eggs, some trembling, many not, and the leftovers of those that had already hatched littering the sands. The attention of the Weyrfolk began to wander, travelling from one jerking egg to another, oft returning to the golden Oak in Autumn egg as if drawn by some magnetic force. Slowly, like the first leaves in autumn, small shards of shell began to fall away from the queen egg, gradually increasing in size and frequency until one golden head rose gracefully from the top of the egg, the effect spoiled only by the fact that the top of the egg remained on her head like a rather odd hat. The hatchling shook her head, dislodging the egg top, wriggling frantically as if to free herself. On by one, wings and arms removed themselves from the hole, the little queen falling forwards onto her forepaws when both were finally free and pulling the rest of her body out of her shell. She paused then, glittering golden in the filtered glowlight, catching her breath from the exertion of hatching. Then, as if her hatching had triggered the others, several more eggs increased their shuddering tenfold. The Dull Copper egg took one massive jerk into the air, then split almost exactly in two, the pieces falling out sideways to reveal a bronze. He looked down at the sand around his feet, lifting one paw as if in disgust, before putting it back down firmly and looking around at the assembled crowd. Not a fraction of a second later a large chunk of shell flew away from the back of the Firestone egg, skidding away along the sand. The hatchling inside, back and now free, began to thrash wildly, freedom now within its grasp! With a final kick and a push with both wings, the dark coloured dragonet finally broke apart the remaining shell, lashing her tail at her success, and throwing sand right into the newly hatched bronze's face. Stunned by the sudden face-full of sand, the bronze twitched oddly, then roared with indignation. Sand! He was covered in it, his perfect hide soiled! He turned a look of hatred on the newly hatched... whatever it was. "It" had paid little heed to the infuriated bronze until it had roared, at which point it turned its attention from regarding the young queen with something akin to curiosity to return the glare that the bronze delivered. A lip curled up in a snarl as a hiss rose in its throat. The bronze, initially given pause at this display of aggression, flared his wings, eyes glowing red, only to have his display mirrored by this strange new hatchling, only bigger. The Oak in Autumn queen looked uncertainly from one to the other. What could she do? They shouldn't be fighting like this! She looked back at her mother for reassurance. The queen's eyes slid to her daughters, a faint but encouraging rumble rising in her throat. The little gold looked back at her siblings, flaring their wings at each other. She took a hesitant step forward toward them, peeping quietly. Please stop?The two hatchlings ignored her, the Firestone hatchling tiring of the bronze's attitude and taking a run at him. The Dull Copper bronze jumped up, away from the Firestone, scrabbling backwards until it bumped forcefully into the Bleached Rock egg, knocking the tiny egg flying into the Solitary egg, a large crack appearing in the side of the twitching egg. This sudden show seemed to give the little queen the confidence to step forward, her voice echoing through the minds of those assembled. Please stop fighting!? she said, flaring her little wings in an effort to draw attention to herself. The two hatchlings looked around at her. The bronze, with a huff, turned away from the two, fixing his attention on removing the disgusting sand from his precious hide. The Firestone returned her gaze levelly, before drawing itself up and stalking away toward the line of candidates, surveying them all critically. Confidence bolstered by her apparent success at diverting a disaster the little queen sat back on her haunches, though the worry didn't quite fade from her eyes. Something else was wrong. Someone was distressed, she could feel it. She looked around at the other eggs, her gaze finally coming to a rest on the Bleached Rock egg. It was shaking fitfully, alternating between trembling and stillness, as if the hatchling inside were resting between attempts. The crack which had been created on contact with the Southern egg had widened, though the hatchling still seemed unable to break free from its shell. Standing, the gold wobbled her way over to the smallest egg, examining the crack critically. Then she raised a paw, placed it over the crack and pushed firmly downwards. This proved to be the force needed to break the egg, as the crack shot to either end of the egg, one half falling away. In the other half nestled the hatchling, deathly pale in the glowlight. The gold leaned forward, nudging the clearly exhausted hatchling gently with her muzzle, croning encouragement. Slowly, with the aid of the gold, the little hatchling made it to its feet so that the crowd could finally get a good look at it. As best as anyone could see through the egg goo and sand that stuck to it, the dragonet appeared to be completely white. The gold looked up at the dwindling row of white-clad candidates, gently nudging the white toward them, using her wing as a guide. The white stumbled forward in front of the gold, slowly making its way toward the candidates. There were so many people here, so many minds it could feel, and he was supposed to pick one of them, right? His mind touched those assembled closest gently. They all seemed nice... except maybe that one. But one of them felt odd, no, she had companions. They felt like his clutchsiblings but... different. Curious, the white stumbled toward them, away from the guidance of his sister. He felt the pull of that mind as he got closer, a feeling of rightness that, once sensed, he could not deny. Oh, my Linda I have found you at last! And you have... little dragons. Friends of ours? I like them, and I think they will like me too. Reaching her feet, the little white slumped itself against them, its grey unmoving eyes gazing up at her, but not seeing. But she could see him, and through that he knew that he was with the right person. I am so tired Mine, I think I will sleep soon, but maybe food for your Soarth first?The gold watched her brother go to his, glad that she had helped him find her. But with that happy feeling came another, nagging one, which pulled her attention away from Soarth and Linda and to the remaining candidates. There were several of them left, one of them must be hers... she made her way over to them, bypassing Kilara, sniffing at the feet of Luna, before finally looking up at the remaining female, eyes a rainbow array of colours. Do not be sad Caro, you Rheath is here for you and I will always love you, she reassured her new lifemate, rubbing her head against Caro's leg before looking round at Soarth again. I am glad that Soarth could find His, but I still worry for my siblings; they have not yet looked for Theirs. There is already much sadness here... she said, eyes again beginning to tint with the yellow of worry. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Colour: White (ffffff/cfcfcf) Name: Soarth Appearance: It’s immediately obvious that Soarth's is not a big dragon, being smaller even than a green. And that’s even without his hide colour, one that has not been seen for many turns, but not one to forget. The majority of his frame is a snowy white in colour, dusted with a pale silvery grey behind his eyes, headknobs, shoulders, back feet and dripping from his neck and back ridges. When caught in the sunlight, evidence of many other colours can be seen, as if someone’s thrown a thin layer of different coloured powders at him. He's very lean and wiry, with short wings that give him unrivalled speed in the air and a great deal of agility, although Astaath isn't far behind. His neck and tail are also a little on the short side, making him very compact, but don't get in the way during tight turns. This agility is only hampered by the fact that Soarth has to see through another's eyes all the time, as he's completely blind. Personality: Soarth is a very gently dragonet. He knows what he hasn't got and knows to be grateful for what he does have, and encourages others to think the same. He is very supportive to those in need, and is an excellent dragon to come to if you're ever feeling down. He loves children of all shapes and sizes, but his undying favourites are the firelizards. Though he will happily talk to anyone, never keeping any secrets, he is at his happiest with flitters, apart from being with his rider of course. He has an excellent memory, far better than a normal dragon's, and will be a natural betweener when his time comes, through time as well as space. As Soarth cannot use his own eyes to see, he instead used the eyes of those around him, tuning into their thoughts to the point where he can see what they see but not so far as to be invasive as to their thoughts. This does have its drawbacks though. Besides the fact that he insists that he asks before looking through the mind of another dragon's rider, he can only connect with those who are, or were considered, candidate material. Because he can only see what others around him see, he steps everywhere carefully, only utilising his agility in wide open air where he knows he won't crash into anything accidentally. On the ground he's considerate of everyone around him, not wanting to step on anyone or knock anything over, though inevitably it does still happen occasionally. This consideration comes through in what he says and does too, as he will never knowingly cause another harm, and is always willing to use his considerable store of energy to help someone in need, or even just for a game. Oddly, he's a great lover of 'Hide and Seek'. Impressed to: Linda (Jovia) Reason: Linda and Soarth are prime examples of opposites attract. Soarth is the calm to Linda’s storm, the kindness to her anger, and the one that will accept her for who she is, no matter what that may be. He will, however, do his very best to make Linda more sociable, for he himself enjoys the company of others and would see his rider have friends of her own, and will not hesitate to get B’man in on it too. Once he’s got her in a social situation, however, he will not abandon her to her own devices. On the contrary, he will guide her through a conversation, halting her where she would say something offensive and prompting her when she hesitates with a compliment. Though at the end of the day, if she has not attracted the friendship of another, Soarth will be there for her where others aren’t. He is saddened by the way that she dislikes most other humans, though glad that she sees as much beauty in the firelizards as he does. Colour: Gold (cdb700/CDB38B) Name: Rheath Appearance: Classic gold shade, classic gold build, Rheath is large and bulky, certainly not the most manoeuvrable. But although she is large by dragon standards, for a gold she is anything but. At just 49 feet (small for her time), she's no larger than the average bronze, but she's in perfect proportions. Her skin is relatively uniform in colour compared to some of her clutch siblings, but if you look carefully you will see thin veins of lighter gold tracing the underside of her wing sails, much like vines. But when she's ready to rise these pale vines will spread and glow like silver, appearing across her body from head to tail. Personality: Small for a gold, and unusually quiet, she rarely speaks out for herself, preferring just to keep in contact with her rider, but enjoys conversation with other dragons. If she does speak, she speaks words of wisdom, for she is still a queen and a leader at heart, she just prefers to ask rather than order, and will take advice from any quarter, whether she acts on it or not. She takes her authority quite seriously, seeing it as her job to make sure that everyone in her Weyr is OK, to the extent that she will often lose sleep fretting over another's health. She's very organised, and will meticulously make sure that everything, and everyone, is where they should be, and has no qualms of calling back any errant Weyrlings who've come down with a case of skivalitis - gently, of course. She prefers to keep her rider close, feeling a little defenceless when she's not around, relying on her for more than just safety, but peace of mind too, as her rider is the only one that can keep her mind off of Weyr matters. Ganymeth, her almost constant companion, can alleviate this stress to some extent, but his stoic presence cannot compare to the loving support of her rider. Impressed to: Caroline (Whitey) Reason: Two of a kind, neither Caro nor Rheath will be seen to stand by while another suffers - the Weyr will be in a deep need of that in the aftermath of the basilisks attack. And the goldpair will be there to lead the Weyr out of the depression, Rheath to pull everyone together and Caro to see her through to the end. With this heavy weight on her shoulders, Caro will have to learn to embrace her tougher side, for Rheath will need every ounce of support her rider can give, and more often than not it will be up to Caro to speak up where her dragon will not. But in doing so she must not forget that life is not so bad, for Rheath herself will need frequent reminding that she, too, must take some time off to relax and, at least for a short time, forget about the worries of her Weyr.

~Linda~
Vivid green eyes watched the fight between the two darkly coloured dragonets as they seemed to bump into each other and get on each others nerves. Her bottom lip now tucked and trapped between her teeth as she bit down upon it watching with bated breath. Hoping of course that they would not get into too badly of a fight. Her attention barely switched over as the Gold started to hatch though and now tried to stop the two from fighting? It seemed she was upset over something. Then it happened, what she feared would happen when those two started to go at it. A tiny little egg flew over and hit another egg, a crack appearing on it... Wait was it one of the ones that already wobbled already or was it still this whole time?
Linda could not remember at all it seemed, Suddenly the little queen's voice roared in her mind. She watched as Cad and Po instantly went silent and darted into her hair shivering badly. "It is okay you two, she wasn't talking about you. shhhhh its okay its okay." she softly muttered to her two charges, her hands reached up to start to scratch behind their eye ridges in hopes of helping them relax. Slowly their chittering and chirping started to come back while Linda cooed and whispered soothing words and noises at the two. Now that her two were calming down, the rush of fright that filled her mind only moments ago now slowly dwindling to concern now. Her eyes watched the golden dragonet, Linda's own eyes followed as the young queen started to move towards the tiny bleached rock egg. Quickly her feet started to make her run forward but a hissing sound from someone around her stopped her in her tracks. No... as much as she wanted to help too she shouldn't go help it wasn't her place right? It seemed at least the young gold noticed and was doing something about it though.
As the egg shells started to move about and the tiny dragonet that was within could be seen, a soft gasp went through her. It was pure white in color, she had heard the tales of course about one such as this long past but still to see one in front of her. She frowned a little bit though, the poor thing looked so exhausted, within her own mind she chanted with the hope it would find it's life mate and remain in good health to live as long of lives as its brethren. Slowly her feet started to cause her to walk back slightly, towards the other Candidates standing around waiting and hoping to impress. Her eyes never left the White and the Gold as the queen led and helped the little one get closer and closer to the people. First Cad started to softly croon from his place on Linda's shoulder, Po was already busy humming encouragement for the eggs.
{Oh, my Linda I have found you at last! And you have... little dragons. Friends of ours? I like them, and I think they will like me too.} Linda blinked a few times as the words entered her head, and a warmth she could not describe started to feel her and her own mind. She felt what was the term... complete? yes that was the proper term. {I am so tired Mine, I think I will sleep soon, but maybe food for your Soarth first?} A gentle and soft smile spread across her lips as her eyes looked into Soarth's own blind ones. She could feel his presence in her head too, as if he was always there just not awake until now. "Yes... These two are friends called Fire Lizards. The brown one is Cad and the black one is Po. They like to help bathing." {Oh yes.... bathing sounds nice too but I am hungry mine and sleepy....} A slight nod moved Linda's head as she slowly crouched down and helped right the little white dragon on the sounds. "Then let us get you some food then, then sleep to recover from hatching." She spoke to Soarth as she started to help him slowly make his way towards the entrance to the sands and to where food was for the little thing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~B'man~
Linda's older brother kept an especially sharp eye out for her, sure not many were harmed during a hatching much anymore really but he couldn't help but feel slightly worried for her. His little princess though, her green hide shone slightly through his short hair while she was perched upon his shoulder. She had loved the fact that Cad and Po had joined them for even a few moments but then they flew away to be with theirs again. She didn't mind one bit because it let her have more time with hers.
{Don't worry mine, She will be okay and she will do fine she will find one like you found me and I found you.}~I know... but I can't help but worry you know?" Instantly though the conversation was put on hold. What was Linda thinking as she started to run towards the Eggs?! B'man instantly got up and started to run through the stands trying to make his way to the sands near the entrance. When he heard several gasps though he stopped and looked up praying it wasn't Linda getting hurt. No it was the Gold who freed the.... white dragon, his eyes glanced fast over towards his sister hoping she didn't do anything stupid and rush over to make sure it was okay. She had a knack of doing that to anything that wasn't human to help if they weren't.
Linda was actually moving back to be with the other candidates though? Relief started to flood his mind and he quickly turned attention to calm down Princess who did not like the jarring she took with his rushing around. {Mine.... look} B'man instantly looked up, wondering what was happening now would he have to drag her out of here to save her.... He saw the white against her legs, his sister tenderly and softly speaking with it and heading towards the entrance where he was... She wait.. She impressed the White? He frowned, white's weren't that common right he didn't remember seeing anything before... the color did sound familiar but he couldn't place it at all. Quickly though he went to the feeding tables, helping those that already arrived and starting to explain how to cut up the meat and feed it now, helping the others who were there to help with them waiting for Linda to show. Carefully guiding her once she did show to cut food into even smaller pieces so her little one could swallow it instead of chew.
Tighearnan's gaze swept over the sands again, noting that there was a brightly colored green out of her shell already, seemingly too caught up in watching her clutchmates bound off to bother Impressing just yet. A fleeting thought occurred to him that maybe she was waiting for the right person to show up. Well, he had just shown up, so maybe she would then come to him! No, that could not be. She was just too busy having fun and watching the others in her clutch. She was a darling little thing, tugging at the heartstrings that frequently felt the pressure from adorable animals and beasts. A dragon could hardly be called a beast, though. Too intelligent, with their ability to speak so very near to the same level as a human being. Privately, he thought dragons might even be a great deal smarter than some of the humans he had met. But now was not the time to be thinking such negative thoughts. The Candidatemaster had said something about kind, welcoming thoughts, right?
The energetic green was distracted by something, perhaps the bronze who was emerging from his shell and finding his lifelong soulmate? But no, she was veering away from him, her gaze locked on something else entirely. The queen egg! She seemed enchanted by the mottled golden shell, glancing only momentarily at her bronze and brown brothers and towards the Candidates who were anxiously awaiting the approval of some dragon out of its shell. Tighearnan was one of these white-robed figures, breath catching in this throat, then expelling noisily, then coming fast, then slow, anything but steady and calm. He was anxious for the green and he just wanted to know when she would pick her chosen one.
He cringed slightly when the green prodded another egg, elliciting a tremendous shudder from it, plus a shivering motion from the Blue Moon egg. But her curiosity was served with those two brief encounters and she was off for the gold egg again. What was so important about that egg? Yes, it was a queen, very important for sure, but why was a green so fascinated with that shiny egg? Maybe it was the same thing that had Kenna mesmerized by anything that glittered or caught the light. Yes, that had to be it. Interesting that dragons and firelizards seemed to be drawn by shinies when runners so often shied away from those brilliant flashes.
Later, Tighearnan would not have been able to explain the sensation, just as he was unable to explain it right now. But it was perhaps akin to snapping a rein onto a bridle, a sensation of having things come together as they should and then being smartly pulled in one direction. And as he staggered forward a step as if physically affected, the green whirled and looked at the line of Candidates. And then she was barreling towards him, sending eggs rocking out of her reckless path. Tighearnan instinctively put his hand forward to block the green's approach, afraid he was about to get mauled for stepping the wrong way. The other Candidates weren't stepping out of line, so she must be coming for him. And then he heard it, a high, squeaky voice that might have resembled his if he hadn't been too amazed by it to notice.
Mine! there you are T'nan! You're mine, you're my T'nan! You are Zephyrth's T'nan! the voice said and then the green touched him, teeth headed for his leg. He opened his mouth, but before a scream could sound he realized she had spoken to him and that she was not biting him, but nuzzling him. "Zephyrth?" he said in an incredulous voice. "T'nan? Mine?" It was almost too much to take in. But instinct told him to kneel to hug the dragon to him, all too aware of the precious gift he had been given. He silently swore to never abandon her, to always be there to give her exactly what she needed, to love her as thoroughly as anyone could love anybody. Why wouldn't you do those things, T'nan? You are mine! All mine! T'nan smiled. "Let's get you fed, Zephyrth." And together the paired exited, headed towards the food that awaited them.
Watching hatchings happen was one of the things that he got to do regardless of if he was a rider to be or not. Now that he was one for sure he watched with a bit more personal reasons rather then professional as the eggs hatched and claimed their riders. He hoped that one would like him and stood silently in the sands waiting and watching for any sign of trouble. So far there was none that he could see but then again his range of vision this day was poor and he was a bit distracted.
Understandably his anxiety grew when the eggs started hatching and dragons were now amongst the people in the sands. He was anxious to see if one would like him but also to see if it was going to be a peaceful or violent hatching as he heard they could often be. His kit was with him and Laraik was on the watch for anything that might need his attention. But then again he was distracted so he might have missed something. Zoning back into the area he saw that at least four eggs or so had hatched and claimed their riders now he waited for his turn hoping he would be next but didn't hold his breath. After all a passed out healer did no one any good if he was needed.
As soon as Rheath Impressed Ganymeth glanced over his shoulder at A’thyr. The healer knew without it being said. He nodded and walked beside his bronze as they made their way toward Caro and the new queen.
Do not worry Rheath. There is hope. The bronze crooned coming to stand next to her. Up close A’thyr could see just how big Ganymeth was compared to the queen. He was going to be a big bronze and the healer shifted his feet on the hot sands. He just might become a leader someday… that was a frightening thought.
Ganymeth didn’t seem to just some over to say hi, he had every intention of staying by her side as long as he could. The behavior of the other dragonets irritated him, but as long as they stayed away from Rheath…
A’thyr smiled at Caro and held out his hand. “Congratulations Caro. I’m A’thyr,” He glanced down at his dragon, “And I have a feeling we’ll be getting to know one another quite well.”
It became silent as there was a lull in the hatchings, and Caro looked about at the eggs for a moment, eyes snapping to this one or that one as it quivered or pausing on one completely still. It was only after she had let her eyes wander to Cassie, a smile tugging at her lips as the other girl tried to make her laugh, that the egg shells began to fall from the queen's egg. A few moments later and the queen appeared, her hatching like a signal as two other eggs hatched as well. One a bronze, the other a... odd. It wasn't a normal color. Was this Hatching going to be like the flitts Hatching?
Eyebrows furrowed, Caroline watched the confrontation between the two dragons, the little queen trying to stop them but failing as one of the dragonets bumped into an egg which bumped into another egg cracking it. This seemed to cause the queen to be more force full, her voice filtering into everyone's minds from the looks on their faces. Though it was odd that a queen would ask instead of order, but that was probably just her personality.
The two hatchlings then stopped and went to look for Theirs, the gold briefly calmed before she looked worried again and walked over to the smaller egg, cracking the shell. A few moments later, the gold helped a white out of the shell and to stand. Caro felt her eyes widen at the sight of the white, a dragon that hadn't appeared for Turns!
The gold helped the white a little ways before he began stumbling toward on of the girl candidates and found His. A smile flitted briefly onto Caro's face as she saw tha tit was Linda who had Impressed, now who had the gold chosen? Before she could look around, Caro's question was answered for her as she felt a mind brush against hers and she turned to meet the rainbow eyes of the gold.
Do not be sad Caro, your Rheath is here for you and I will always love you., the little queen reassured Caroline, who realized with shock as the dragonets mind fully merged with hers, that she would be assuming the duties of Weyrwoman. Then the thought was pushed aside as the indescribable joy was felt through her soul as Rheath rubbed her head against Caro's leg before looking round at the white again . I am glad that Soarth could find His, but I still worry for my siblings; they have not yet looked for Theirs. There is already much sadness here...
"Yes I know..." Caro murmured, noticing the yellow tinge to Rheath's eyes. The girl knelt beside her new lifemate and wrapped her arms around the neck of the little gold, heedless of the goo and sand. She'd feel the shock of being the new queenridre later, at the moment...
"But we will do everything we can to help others move on from the sadness and rebuild this Weyr." Caro said reasuringly, "I'm sure all your siblings will find Theirs here and if not on the Sands then perhaps the Stands? It's possible."
Yes I know. But I worry for them so. I do not like sadness. Rheath replied.
"Nobody does." Caro said as the bronze hatchling from earlier walked over, followed by his new rider. Caroline stood, suddenly conscious of the goo on her robe as A'thyr introduced himself and said congratulations. Insinctively she let a few wisps of hair hide her eyes as she took his hand.
"Thank you." Caro replied, albiet shyly. "It does seem so yes... At least Kiara didn't Impress Rheath..." The last part was murmured, to the point that perhaps A'thyr didn't hear her, but a few seconds later a sharp pang ran through her stomach and she looked over at Rheath who was still watching her siblings with worry.
Yes. There is always hope. But oh, Ganymeth what if some of our siblings do not find Theirs!? Rheath creeled anxiously, not wanting to leave the Sands to go eat until her siblings had found Theirs. But it seemed Hers knew she was hungry.
"We can still see the Sands from where you're fed, Rheath. Don't worry so." Caro said gently, turning to scratch an eyeridge. "Besides, Ganymeth has been waiting patiently for you all this time, surely ravenous, would you make him wait longer?" Yes, she went there. She played that card, but considering Rheath's growing mindset it was needed.
The little gold tipped her head slightly upwards to look at her brother with her whirling eyes and snorted, flecks of sand and goo flying about.
Oh Ganymeth, you could have started without me. Rheath scolded gently, her tone light and filled with gratitude, But if one of our siblings have trouble you will help me yes?
Caro nodded and began heading toward the meat for the dragonets, nodding her head to A'thyr.
Kiara quite frankly, was not interested. Those stupid greens, prancing around the sands as if they were worth something. Ha! as if! They were worth nothing, absolutely nothing. Only the idiots got them - not someone such as herself. No, that gold egg. She was taking her time in hatching! Then again, she was probably waiting for the right moment. The right moment for when she could emerge from her golden prison and march down, select Kiara and proclaim themselves the new leaders of this Weyr. Kiara was so set on the idea that the Weyr would be hers that she essentially wrote off Valora and Ariseth. Well, that queen certainly was never going to rise again, if she even survived much longer. What Weyr allowed a queen who could not clutch to lead? Therefore, it was only right that it would be her who would take upon the role. Being one of the few people who was not watching the so called cute antics of those lowly dragons, Kiara actually saw the essential explosion of the Forest Fire egg. After all, she was keeping her eye on the queen her, on her queen egg, and the Forest Fire had been sat right beside it. There was a bronze amongst all of the shards, and from what she could tell quite a big bronze at that. It would be interesting to see who he went to. Well, a Weyrwoman did need a Weyrleader. He seemed reluctant, however, to go and seek out his, instead crooning to the queen. A devoted follower eh? Kiara's eyes flashed in cunning. Such a devoted bronze could be a good thing, if his rider would follow suit at all. Before the Forest Fire bronze was going to move though, it seemed that another dragonet was determined to find its bonded first. The oddly coloured brown... or at least she assumed he was a brown if his base shade was anything to go by despite the fact he was far too small to be a true brown, hand wrestled out of his egg and Impressed before the bronze decided to make his move. An assured, confident move. That bronze knew who he was heading for if his motion was anything to go by. So, who was it he had chosen? Ahhh, Aethyr. A healer if she was not much mistaken. She'd have to keep an eye on him and his dragon from now on. It was only necessary that she did so. More commotion from the sands after what had seemed a quiet lull, and there was another bronze on the sands, along with... another weird coloured dragonet. But more so than the brown, for the brown was just a little brown with different shades of markings. This dragonet... there was nothing like it. Her. Kiara was rather positive that it was a her, the gold markings on head wings and tail giving it away. But you didn't get queens that colour, nor did you get queens hatching out of eggs that weren't gold. So it was surely just another bronze with some of the most unusual markings in existence. It was certainly picking a fight with its smaller bronze brother, as the two started to hiss at each other, wings flared. Her attention was distracted from these two though, by the fact that her queen had finally hatched. At last! The bright gold head had appeared from a hole in her shell when she'd been trying to figure out what the Firestone hatching was. Finally, it was time for people to recognise her as the next queen rider, and pay her the respect that she didn't get enough of. Kiara shifted subtlety, her position becoming one of smug satisfaction as her emerald eyes watched the young gold's attempts to stop the other two fighting. Obviously she wasn't quite as authoritative yet, but she succeeded in bossing the other two about: the Firestone hatchling stalking off to patrol the line of candidates and the Dull copper hatchling sitting down to clean himself. Of course, the little queen seemed to have something else on her mind, as she turned to investigate the Bleached Rock Egg. Kiara felt a minor flash of irritation at being ignored by the dragonet, before deciding that it wasn't so bad if she wanted to help another hatch. After all, a queen needed people to boss about id she not? What was a surprise though, was when the egg shattered to reveal a deathly white dragon hatchling, something she only vaguely remembered hearing of in the old stories. And even then she'd only thought it was some harper's tale. What she didn't understand though, was why the queen was insisting on helping that white to its Bonded. That wasn't something a queen should stoop too! A queen should be noble, dignified, not helping the commoners, however uncommon that white was. That was something she was going to have to teach her queen, when she finally decided to come and choose her. About time! The queen was now decided to come and select her bonded. Well, Kiara. There was no one else of worth really. She was just about ready to greet her dragon when... the queen kept on walking. Where did she think she was going?! She'd done enough helping of people for one day, it was time for her to choose Kiara so that they could get out of this overwhelming heat. Stupid beast! Then, horror of horrors... her queen stopped beside that blonde. Beside Caroline. And, the nerve of her! Caroline had just Impressed to her queen! HER queen! That gold did not belong to Caroline, but to Kiara! The candidate was livid, and in a mild state of shock. What was going on?! Well, obviously she wasn't a true queen if she chose that bitran over Kiara! Must have been something wrong with the clutch, after all there were numerous eggs showing now signs of Hatching, and there was that mutated white. Which, when looked at again appeared to have no sight in its eyes. Not a true queen then. It didn't stop Kiara from glowering fiercely at the new queen weyrling. How DARE she! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With the Gold hatched and safely Impressed, one of the other eggs seemed to decide that it was time for it to make a grand appearance. The Cosmos Egg began to shudder more violently, cracks appearing on it's dark mottled shell as the hatchling inside fought against it to et out. A rhythmic thrashing was coming from inside the egg, before one side shattered completely, leaving a large hole through which a dragonet poked out his head and neck. The dark coloured blue yawned as he looked around, blinking slowly in the new found light before muscling his way out of the rest of the egg, leaving about half of it intact as he slithered out onto the grounds. He stretched languidly, before flaring his wings to dry off slightly in the heat, soaking up the babble and chatter around his, and seeming to bask in the awws and the gasps that came from the stands. He stood there for a few minutes, oblivious to his bronze brother and dark coloured sister, as he looked around with what could be called a mild interest. With another yawn and a large feline like stretch, the blue decided that he'd stood in the limelight long enough - for the moment anyway. Picking up his lighter coloured feet as he started across the sands, he wobbled for a bit till he found his balance, his walk quickly taking on a slight swagger like movement. He paused for a moment as he went past Rheath and Ganymeth, crooning flirtatiously to his sister before continuing on his way once again. It didn't take him long to make his choice amongst the males gathered about. He sauntered past his chosen, giving the boy a flick with his tail as he did so, looking back over his shoulder to make eye contact. Come mine! Your Cometh is hungry and we can't keep them waiting for us. Besides, I wish to greet my fellow sisters. I'm sure they'll be glad to see me, he stated before heading off the sands in the lead, his new rider in tow. Colour: Blue (0c1157/5fa3ff) Name: Cometh Appearance: A dark blue base, with smatterings of a lighter, brighter blue up his forelegs to about his elbow and over his back feet below the ankle. Cometh is quite an average blue for all he would like to tell you otherwise. Possibly a little more muscular than some - a fact he does not hesitate to draw upon but otherwise he totally average in length, height and build. Just not in personality. Personality: Cometh is in short, a rock star. He has the chilled out, relaxed manner, ever the cool customer and almost aloof in the same way some bronzes are. That would because he sees himself as a bronze - just stuck in this (Though gloriously smexy) blue hide. He gets what he wants with smooth words and devious planning. And Cometh is, of course, Faranth's gift to Pern. Especially to the ladies. In his eyes he's perfection and is, of course, the perfect blue for any green. He would be perfect for a queen too if all those sharding bronze things didn't keep getting in his way. So he flirts. Quite a bit. Alright... a lot. Also, if a dragons can swagger Cometh has to have mastered to art as he casually parades across the Weyrbowl, making sure he is seen and adored my his loving fans. Let them drool after his sheer amazingness and aspire to become like him. They'll never get there though. For he is the only Cometh. And they're not going to forget that in a hurry. Impressed to: NPC (Adoptable)
“Small favors.” A’thyr remarked dryly. He had sharp ears, considering he had to wake at the slightest change of a patients breathing. He hadn’t known Kiara well, but just enough to know she’d never have Impressed gold.
Everyone will find their’s, don’t worry Rheath. Ganymeth ducked his head slightly under her scolding. I didn’t want to eat without you. Of course I will help. The bronze pulled himself to his full height.
A’thyr and Ganymeth followed close behind the queen pair. The healer could feel the hunger coming from Ganymeth, but knew the bronze would never say so. “I hope they have enough hfood for you.” He chuckled patting his dragon.
A trill from above was the only warning as Ilex glided down to A’thyr’s shoulder.
What’s that! Ganymeth was immediately on guard ready to defend his rider and Rheath if need be.
“This is Ilex, my flit. He’s a smaller version of a dragon. Don’t worry he won’t harm anyone.” A’thyr replied with a grin.
The bronze sniffed the brown flit, and Ilex gave a soft chirp.
He seems alright… Let’s catch up with Rheath. He trotted off after the queen determind not to get too far behind.
“He approves, trust me.” A’thyr replied to Ilex’s questioning croon.
The Firestone, approaching the line of candidates, fixed each white-robed figure with a piercing gaze. If she was going to have to choose one of these things as her own, they would have to be worthy of her. Her gaze slipped over several of the ex-candidates who had yet to lead their partners off of the sands. A shame, really, she wouldn't have minded one or two of those as her own. She stalked down the dwindling line, predator-like, muttering audibly as she passed by every unsuitable candidate. Coward, sap, arrogant, fool... the insults continued. She passed every single candidate until she came to the end of the line. Hmm. She quickly passed her gaze over the Stands. With a grumble, she turned again and, drawing herself up to her full, proud (and beautiful) stature, stepped back to stand in front of one of the girls. You'll do, I suppose. You will feed me now, Kiara. With that said, she turned and began to stalk back to the waiting tables. She only got a few steps, however, before turning back to her rider in irritation. Well come on, snap out of it! Do you want me to expire in front of everyone for lack of food? she asked imperiously of the still shell-shocked Kiara. While this was happening, several more of the egg were showing signs of hatching. It looked very much like the Alpine Lake and the Blue Moon eggs were likely to hatch next, and they did not disappoint. It seemed to happen at the same time, but in reality the Alpine Lake was in the lead. In a sudden rush of activity both eggs started to fall apart as if disintegrating into the sand, some pieces big, others small. It seemed too, when the dragonets' hide each became visible, that they intended to be the same colour too; both were extremely pale, almost the same colour as the white that had hatched just moments before. It may have just been the egg goo, but did they glitter, or shine, too? Each dragon wobbled from the wreckage of their shell to the sand, the Alpine Lake hatchling stumbling slightly, the Blue Moon looking round at him as if noticing his brother for the first time. The Alpine Lake shook himself, gobbets of goo and shell dropping off into the sand around him, waving his wings around in the hot air to dry them. As the wetness evaporated slightly, his colour became more visible - a pale blue, certainly not sparkly or shiny. But the same could not be said of the Blue Moon egg. Though this dragonet was also drying his wings off, he was not getting any darker or less sparkly, his hide taking on the colour of the icebergs that floated on the seas in the far north. One after the other, the two stepped forward to the line of candidates. A few strides later, however, it soon became apparent that the two were heading in the same direction. The dragonets seemed to notice this too, for the two looked at each other, the eyes of the blue flashing in disapproval. But the Blue Moon dragonet, the bigger of the two, bowed his head to the other, letting him stride forward and choose first. The blue found his, sitting in the sand before the boy. To business now, Mine; your Chillith is hungry.The Blue Moon watched this from a respectful distance, starting forward again when he was sure that his brother had made his choice. He headed unwaveringly to the boy who stood next to that chosen by Chillith. That is a relief, my L'rak. Your Ioth thought, just for a second, that Chillith was about to claim you as his own. I find it fortunate that he picked another, allowing me to find you. He nuzzled his rider's leg gently. But I hunger. May we find some food now?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Colour: Firestone Queen (292421/54220a/c09409) Name: Skadith Appearance: A dark coloured base, dusted with golden glimmers. Her eye ridges and headknobs are both completely gold and golden lines seem to trace around her jaw. Other evidence of her gold heritage can be seen on the front of her wing, and trailing down her tail between the ridges, down to the fork at the very end. The reddish spots and swirls are most highly concentrated around her legs and chest where the base tone is blackest, looking much as if she is smouldering away quietly. She's built like a whip, with long legs and long tail, but surprisingly her neck is a little on the short side, making her look a little odd but not hindering her in the slightest. Her tail makes up for this, being long and whip like, with unusually prehensile ends. Personality: Quite the contrast to her golden sister and bronze brother, this little queen is loud and proud, never one to keep her opinions quiet, often briskly stating them much to the astonishment to those around her due to her roughness. Oh yes, she's not afraid to curse. In fact, she's quite bossy - she leaves no-one in doubt that she's a queen dragon, only drawing her line at bossing Ganymeth - all others are fair game. She can also not take any kind of insult well, whether it be to her, her clutch siblings, her friends or 'her' Weyr as a whole. Fearless to the point of recklessness, she takes an immense thrill from anything "extreme" or "stupid," dragging others into her fun indescriminently. This will lead many to believe her a bad leader, but if she could only calm down a little and learn to work with others then she could potentially be one of the greatest movers in the Weyr. When bored she will often choose to pester those around her, taking a perverse joy in annoying Ganymeth, simply because it angers him so. With Mundilfarith, however, she will not associate. It's quite simply not possible for her to look down on another more, scorning anything he says simply because she can't stand him and his arrogance, though what that says about her own personality others would not dare say, at least to her face. It doesn't help that she's bigger than he is, too. Impressed to: Kiara (DS) Reason: Two strong personalities, it is said, will never work together. It will come as a surprise to many then, that Kiara has Impressed one of the strongest-minded dragonets in the clutch. True to form, the two will likely struggle to get on much for the first sevenday or so, but eventually they will learn to work with each other. Kiara must learn, first and foremost, that she cannot always have her own way - Skadith simply has way too much conviction to let her rider rule her life as many would, and will be as much a driving force in Kiara’s life as Kiara is in her own. Skadith will do her utmost to get Kiara in on her harebrained plans, but Kiara in turn will tone down her dragons recklessness to a more manageable level, her scheming mind bring a little more in the way of reason to the dragon. But with this reasoning, and more than a little maturity, will Skadith begin to realise her real role in the world, in ‘her’ Weyr, that of a leader. Only once she realises this will she see that to get to her goal she must work with others and not simply overshadow them. Whether Kiara will agree to this, for it is with Rheath and her rider which they must work, is up to her, but with the two queens working together the Weyr will be unstoppable. Colour: Blue (96CDCD) Name: Chillith Appearance: Chillith's hide seems to match his personality in many ways - a pale, icy shade, completely devoid of any markings or 'imperfections', as he may call them. Very much no nonsense in his colouration, that's for sure. Similarly, he's pointed in his build, similar to Mundilfarith but lacking the bronze's muscling. His head has a sharp, slightly pinched look and immediately gives the impression that he's not a dragon you can cuddle up to for comfort. A long neck leads onto narrow shoulders and chest, with thin legs and talons that are that little bit longer than average. His stomach has much more of a greyhound look, dipping away more than most to give him a slightly arched look. Narrow hind legs and pointed hocks, with a small thin tail complete him. Personality: A seemingly firm believer of the traditional "Speak only when you're spoken to,", one cannot rely on Chillith to start a conversation. He does not waste words on anyone, not even to argue without. For once he has made his point, nothing is going to sway him otherwise so why bother continuing an argument. In fact, who bother being in company with which you can argue. Chillith much prefers to spend time alone only with his rider than socialise with anyone else. Most people that he meets anyway never seem to make his expectations either - there's always something wrong with them. There is no such thing as a perfect job with him around, unless of course he actually likes you. Whilst others may be subject to sharp words and scathing insults he will not let a thing harm those he cares about. And despite his almost continued disapproval, those he finds that even half fit the bill... his bill, can be considered excellent. Chillith is a near unrivalled Search Dragon, though if you can get him to be friendly you're lucky. Impressed to: NPC (adoptable) Colour: Moonstone (cfdfe0) Name: Ioth Appearance: Though white in colour, Ioth is a far cry from the 'traditional' white dragon such as Ruth. For one, he is definitely male, no questions asked. Secondly, he's the size of a large brown, maybe a small bronze, but in length rather than stature. Unlike his bronze brethren he isn't bulky and built for stamina and strength alone. He's streamlined without being skinny, possessing a grace, and flexibility, more in common with blue and green dragons, long in the neck, legs and tail and yet with an appearance of proportionality. Like a bronze, however, he is clearly a metallic - his white hide glitters like a freshly fallen snow in the morning. Personality: Think English gentleman. He's well spoken, mild mannered, dignified, a true debonair. He is just and fair, often stepping in to play the middle man in a disagreement between others, though will never be seen arguing himself. Somehow, it just never happens with him; he seems to exude calm and composure. He is often found in the company of others, as drawn to them as they are to him, though he says little when left unprompted. He is very honest, but not brutally so, and keeps no secrets from rider, friends, or strangers, with the exception of when he thinks telling would do harm. This can often get him in a quandary, however, when he's been told not to say something, even if he's sure it's harmless banter - it's the only time you'll ever see him unsure of himself. When on Search, however, he can pick out potential candidates with a single-mindedness usually only found in the more adept blues, his serene personality and grace attracting much attention than many a blue could hope for. Impressed to: Lairak (Vasile) Reason: L’rak and Ioth are so alike it’s uncanny. Softly spoken, well mannered and approachable, this pair exude a calm that is uncommon in such dark times, and a steady bulwark for others to cling to in the midst of a storm. While not the most out going and forward thinking, the pair are more than happy to take life as it comes, to ride the waves and stay disaster, for themselves and others, always ready with an open mind to offer support to someone in need. With L’rak set on becoming a healer he could but have asked for a better dragon, for when it comes to healing a dragon and rider in distress, there is no better than Ioth.
Luna watched as one after the other eggs hatched and dragons impressed to Theirs. Luna smiled at the lucky ones who found their dragon, watching to see what kind of dragon chose them. She smile at the gold as it sniffed at her feet before walking up to Caroline. Luna was happy for her friend. She had felt that Caro would get the gold. She really did deserve it. Luna was also glad it hadn't chosen Kiara.
A peaceful gold like that would never survive long with the stuck up girl. She turned to see the dark hatchling from the firestone egg walk up and run its eyes over them. It took it a bit but it ended up deciding on Kiara. Luna wondered if the pair would get along well. As she watched those with dragons walk off to feed their bonded she began to notice there were not many eggs left. Her smile began to fade as she looked to the few left eggs. Would one of them be hers?
Draco watched from above and as each dragon hatched he became more angered. His eyes whirled red as more dragons impressed to others and not His. How dare His' dragon keep her waiting! Could it not tell how upset Luna was getting. If it did not hurry up he would go out there and bring it out of its shell himself. His wings spread wide as he let out an angry screech that echoed across the sands. His' dragon had better get out there or he would not let it near his Luna!
Luna looked up at the screech and could see Draco seething on the ledge he sat on. She grew worried as she saw his red eyes. She hoped he wasn't about to do something too drastic. She could see him eying the eggs angrily. She took a step in his direction as her attention moved from the eggs and onto her angry firelizard. "Draco..."
