Your name: Hannah
Character Number: 3
Character Name: A’thyr
Age: 19
Birth Season: Mid-Spring
Gender: Male
Rank: Candidate
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Aethyr’s hair is usually straight and a nothing special. It’s a light brown and usually either short or tied back so it doesn’t touch his neck. Lately he’s let it grow a bit more wild and dechielveled since he hasn’t had time to take care of it. It’ll get cut here soon though, when he gats around to it. He’s supporting a bit of stubble right now, but he usually can’t stand it unless his face is clean shaven. His face is squarish, with a strong jaw. His nose is oddly triangular, and his lips are soft and rounded.
Aethyr is almost six foot if not over by a half inch or so. He’s strongly built, with well used muscle. He’s lost a slight amount of motion in his shoulders, since the burn scar doesn’t stretch well. His skin is tanned and he’s got a few freckles here and there. He has no problem trotting around with out a shirt, but usually wears thin loose clothing.
Personality: Aethyr has always had an over protective personality. He has strong morals and adheres to them, such as no one gets left behind. He won’t stand by and let someone get injured if there’s someway he can prevent it. He’s gentle, after years of practice treating the sick and, injured. He does have a hero complex and no sense of self-preservation. This makes him dependable, but you can't guarantee he'll be alive tomorrow.
Aethyr is constantly sifting between calm and focused, and laid back and loose. This also means no one knows what will trigger some of his angry spells. Thankfully he’s more the sit and brood than the violent type. He gets along with people, and won’t hesitate to introduce himself. He’s respectful and won’t push if the other person won’t talk, easily filling their silence with a joke or funny story.
History: Aethyr was born a weyrbrat. For some reason his parents never wanted to get to know him and to this day he doesn’t know who they are. There are rumors, but Aethyr as long since lost hope in them. Growing up his foster parents were kind to him, but firm that he get his work done.
When he was old enough, Aethyr decided he was going to try his hand at Healing. As he grew and learned he became a mentor to other students. He never tolerated bullying and always defended those who were weaker. He learned at an average pace, but his retention was phenominal. He did have to wait an extra year to become a Journeyman Healer though. He was in the home stretch when a boiling numbweed pot started to fall over. He pushed a nearby trainee out of the way and received some heavy burns to his back. They healed in time, but his graduation was delayed. No later than a week later, he was trying to help people pack for the trip West when he saw a child trying to handle a knife and naturally stepped in. Aethyr received a slice to the forearm for his troubles. Feeling that his services would be needed in the new continent he signed up to come. He puttered around the Weyr for awhile until that day of the attack. He’d been out searching for herbs and the like when the call came. He eagerly helped treat the injured and further proved he had a hero complex by making sure he helped with the more violent patients, human and dragon alike. He rarely ate and slept and has become quite thin, though he’s working to get some of it back. The wails of the dying and injured have scared him somewhat, and he doesn’t have a high regard for the basilisks running around the Weyr. He’ll help treat them only because he just can’t let them suffer.
No more than a week or two ago a green dragon came up to him and told him he’d make a good Candidate and thus he’s awaiting the Hatching.
Relation to Existing/Pending Character?: N/A
Future: Both of us agree that Impression would be good. He would like to gain some leadership. I’ll be happy if he survives. Becoming a father down the road would be nice to.
Pets: Ilex
Colour: Brown (c28745)
Impressed to: A'thyr
Appearance: A light tan in colour, with large swirls of a darker brown twisting around his body like a fine cake decoration, though this brown is far from sugary sweet. He is a good size for a brown, though edging more to the bulky side of the scale, even going so far as to be a little rotund around the belly.
Personality: This brown seems to possess the patience of a saint. Even tempered and noble, very little bothers him. Little, that is, except for pieces of string. Especially pieces of string that stick out from things, like they're just asking to be cut off. Aethyr may just have to watch this brown if he's ever around when he's stitching up a patient, but apart from that the browns bidable nature could serve his human well as an assistant in the infirmary.
Colour: Bronze (8B7500/734A12)
Name: Ganymeth
Appearance: Large and bulky, even by bronze standards, this male is easily the same size as the great Mnementh of legend. The classic bronze in colour, a golden brown with a green sheen that clearly defines him, which bleeds into a darker tone. The dark colour appears on the wingsails of each wing, on the toes of each forepaw, streaking along each headknob and, most oddly, in a perfect mimicry of the chest strap, around his neck and with a large circular marking right in the centre of his chest. He is the bulkiest of all the dragonets, even a little larger than Rheath. Solid muscle from head to foot, he is not the most attractive looking dragon ever, but is certainly awe-inspiring in many ways. His neck is thick and a little on the short side, as are his front legs, the back pair rippling with muscle needed to get his massive bulk into the air, as with his wings, needed to stay there.
Personality: He is certainly no pushover, and can hold his own against even the Queens for a respectable amount of time. He's like a big burly body guard; always there, watching, rarely getting involved yet still carrying that "I'm in charge here" air that few would mess with given the choice. Coupled with that, he is fiercely protective of those he feels need protection, and has taken it upon himself to follow Rheath to almost everywhere she goes, scaring off trouble before it even starts. He keeps a black list of those he considers troublesome whom he will keep an especially close eye on, and woe-betide any on said list who dare to cause a ruckus in his presence.
Impressed to: Aethyr (hannah)
Reason: It will soon become clear to any that these two will become the guardians of the Weyr, both sharing a deep protective instinct for anything and everyone around them. You can depend on them to be wherever they are needed when it is so, and though A’thyr will be all to willing to sacrifice himself for the cause, Ganymeth will always be there to reign his rider in to his rather more sensible parameters. With potentially the largest dragon in the Weyr, A’thyr will have to face up to the fact that leadership of the Weyr is no idle threat, but with the determination and morals that the two both share in abundance they have the potential to take this in their stride, though A’thyr may have to step up and remind his dragon that he must take it at the pace of the slowest, or the bronze may end up leaving them behind as he strives to reach his goals. A’thyr must also learn to control his anger, for while rider may sit and brood, dragon may not show the same level of restraint in the face of opposition, and if A’thyr is in a foul mood then it only makes it more likely that Ganymeth will be in one too.
