appearance;;
Caroline would not consider herself beautiful, at all. She has very low self-esteem and it shows in the way she doesn’t really care about her appearance. Cassie is the only reason she ever looks like a female should. Though Caro doesn’t consider her self beautiful and her self-esteem is quite low in this area, the way she holds her head high and meets the eyes of those she passes tells otherwise.
Light honey blonde hair flows down her back, parts of the slightly wavy hair resting on her shoulders while her bangs are usually brushed to the right. Caro always liked her hair and the way it flows, she just wishes that somehow people would stop staring at it. Her light colored hair compliments her complexion, a light pearly color, as strands of her long hair outline elfin features. Dainty nose, soft cheekbones, soft plump lips that hardly dare to hide emotion, and high arching eyebrows hardly seeable because of their light color. Silent light saphire eyes take in the world beneath the high arched brows, not missing any detail. Within these eyes there’s a fire, a fire that challenges all who dare to stare into them.
Caro stands at 5’9 with a very trim and neat figure. With the height on the girl you’d think she’d look a little monkey like wouldn’t ya? But no, Caro’s torso hardly makes up most of her height; in fact her torso is the smallest part of her body, in length anyways. What truly makes up her height are her long legs, on Earth they’d be called dancer legs. Her long arms match her legs, long slender hands complimenting her image. Caro is still far from done growing, at least in her torso area. She does not have the hourglass figure girls would die for, but she does have a slightly curvy waist, wide bony hips and a developing chest. She still has a ways to go if she wants to compete with other girls, granted she would love if her chest stayed the size it is right now so people don’t stare, but her body disagrees. People do tend to stare when she walks by, mostly because of her hair and eyes but also because of the way she walks. She danced, a lot, when she was little and that dancing has ingrained itself into her step making it seem as if every step she takes is a dance. Fluid and graceful. Well it would be… if she wasn’t still awkward about her height. Right now the dance seems choppy and uncoordinated except when she’s in a good mood.
Caro does not mind getting down and dirty, her calloused hands are proof of that as are her work clothes. She needs new ones. Caro will go above and beyond her candidate chores just to get somebody to say, ‘Good job.’ Caro has a gentle voice, like the wind it can be warm and friendly, or it can be bitingly cold.
Caro’s clothes consist of her work clothes, candidate robes, and one brown dress for Gathers. She has matching slippers for the dress and then her work boots. The only piece of jewelry she owns is the silver locket her mother gave her. It holds an artist’s take on her parents, but next to her parents’ picture is that of a gold firelizard. Caro has named it Hope. She likes her picture. The locket is covered in swirls, integrated into the swirls are words that Caro is slowly figuring out since the words were made into a puzzle. Caro has always wondered where her mother got the locket but never asked, perhaps the locket itself will tell her. Cassie has told Caro time and time again the she will eventually get more jewelry as soon as Cassie finds a silversmith. Cassie has also told Caro that she is going to be her personal seamstress and will eventually have Caro keep her hair out of that ugly braid.
personality;;
Caro’s one of the nicer people you’ll meet out there, always giving a smile to those she passes. She’s willing to do anything for anyone, hoping to make their lives just a bit easier.
Though Caro is very friendly, she's friendly in her own way. Aloof in manner most of the time, this girl is extremely shy so you'd have to look closely to catch the passing smile. Caro hides her shyness as best she can, preferring to be the silent one of the group, the one who when they see you struggeling, walk over and help you without saying anything and asking nothing in return. It warms Caro's heart just to hear a simple thank you.
Caro does not trust easily, though she may seem like it. There's always that voice whispering to her deep down though, saying, 'They'll always leave you. Nobody wants you. That's why you were sent West...' That voice helps to harden her heart against others, well except for a few like Cassie.
Caro. Does. Not. Like. Human. Contact. At. All. She hates it with a passion, dealing only with Cassie's frequent hugs because they're forced on her. Although Caro is shy, she is not afraid to tell somebody to leave her alone if they're just trying to use her, or put her down. In fact, she can get quite mean about and using her intelligence she says things that will shake you straight to your core and let her have a clean get away. Caro always, always knows when she's being manipulated, in fact, Caro will start manipulating the manipulator in turn. She loves to have people's own games turn on them.
Though Caro is fairly shy around other humans, when alone she's quite the daredevil. Jumping from cliff to cliff a smile on her face as she reaches the Hatching Cavern and continues her game all the way to the Sand, all the while a song bubbling in her throat as her dance begins.
Caro loves dragons to death, always has and always will. Her favorites are the greens and of course the golds. Ever since she was little Caro has had a small hope that she may be a queen rider, but she's very aware that that dream will most likely not be fullfilled. She also likes puzzles
history;;
Born and raised in Telgar Weyr, Caro was the daughter of a green rider and brown rider. The green rider's name was Jewel of green Hirath, the brown rider was F'ket of brown Sardith. She was loved by her parents very much and she loved them in return. Her life at Telgar was wonderful, though at first she got many strange looks about her appearance, people soon shrugged it off as she ran around playing. After all, Jewel was fairly light haired and had light eyes, F'ket had light eyes.
Caro was usually in the care of her mother, a woman she barely remembers or under the watchful eye of Hirath and sometimes Sardith. Those were the best of times, pretending that she had both parents with her and that they were the dragons, the dragons themselves playing right along. As Caro grew she became accostumed to not getting everything she wanted, she had to earn it through her hard work. Her parents disiplined her very well. She could usually be found in the kitchens as she grew, helping here and there or she would watch the other children of the Weyr.
One day there was a faint humming throughout the Weyr and Caro was wakened by the nudge of Hirath whom she had fallen sleep next to.
/Wake little one. Come see the Hatching with me./ the green told her. Caro obeyed, excitement coursing through her veins at the thought of finally seeing a Hatching. The girl climbed onto Hirath's back faintly aware of the green telling her to hang on tight as she told Caro's mother what they were doing. Caro's mother was not please. Thankfully Caro held on tight and was able to stay on the whole small flight. When they landed Caro was immediatly retrieved by her father, who seemed very pale and told her not to do that again without one of them. Caro nodded. Then the Hatching began.
A bronze. Then a blue, green, two more blues, a brown and another bronze! Caro was so excited, a smile plastered on her face as she watched the dragonets Impress to their lifemates. That's when she decided she loved dragons and was eventually going to Stand for a Hatching whether she Impressed or not. Caro didn't care what color she got! But then a large crack sounded throughout the Sands. The queen egg was hatching.
All eyes turned towards the egg and watched as the shell cracked, one whole side blowing away to leave a hole like a door and the golden queen stepped out. Caro couldn't breath, the little queen was beautiful. A small hope or desire you could say blossomed in her breast then as the queen briefly took in the Stands, her whirling red eyes meeting silver violet ever so briefly as she Searched for Hers. Then the moment was gone and the hatchling trotted to one of the candidates in front of her. Caro's favorite color was now gold. And green.
Caro's head was filled with daydreams for quite a while after that, and then some. But life moved on, granted now Caro never missed a Hatching. Ever. Turns passed and Caro was now fourteen and the move West had just been suggested. Her parents urged her to go and she agreed. Before she left her mother gave her a silver locket, whispering, 'Never forget us my Caro. I'm sure you'll enjoy this last present.'
Then she knew. Her parents were not coming with her. As Caro was swallowed by her sorrow on the rocking ship, a younger girl named Cassie managed to find her. Cassie was able to comfort Caro, and become friends with her, best of friends, so that when they landed in the West they felt they could face the world.
Later, after both had moved up to the Weyr, Caro was Searched by a green and she Stood for the first Clutch of Skyline. It was one of the best days of Caro's life. Sadly she didn't Impress and there was no gold to admire, but she got to Stand! A dream come true! And her fifteenth birthday passed.
Then came the trip to the valley. Caro obviously had to stay since she wasn't a rider, but she was one of the first to rush to the returning dragons' needs when they arrived. Caro was horrified, wondering who or what would, no, could do this to a dragon. Now Caro worries over the Weyr and over Ariseth, hoping, praying that there's a queen egg or two this next Clutch and that the young queen dragon would survive at least until her eggs Hatched. Then Dusk appeared...
relation to existing/pending character?;;
Cassie, best friend.
future;;
She doesn’t know where she’s going. Really. She hopes to at least be of some use and not just be there, with no real value.
pets;;
N/A
Gold, green or uncannon =3=b Caro’s preference though, she personally really doesn’t care. One of the only reasons she wants the gold even vaguely is to tick Kiara off ^_^ The other is because she thinks they're beautiful proud creatures and secretly wishes she could be like them. Personality wise XDD
A dragon to bring her out of her shell and be overprotective. I know dragons are already protective of their riders, but her dragon I feel should be way overprotective.
cannon/uncannon;;
Don’t care, you can give her a rainbow dragon for all it’s worth lol XD
reason;;
Because you love me and Caroline XD Nah, just kidding ^_^ I’ve already stated you could give me a rainbow dragon so obviously, I’m up for anything and therefore I don’t really want anything and so there is no reason, to put a reason down here. XD You love my logic don’t you? ;D
Colour: Gold (cdb700/CDB38B)
Name: Rheath
Appearance: Classic gold shade, classic gold build, Rheath is large and bulky, certainly not the most manoeuvrable. But although she is large by dragon standards, for a gold she is anything but. At just 49 feet (small for her time), she's no larger than the average bronze, but she's in perfect proportions. Her skin is relatively uniform in colour compared to some of her clutch siblings, but if you look carefully you will see thin veins of lighter gold tracing the underside of her wing sails, much like vines. But when she's ready to rise these pale vines will spread and glow like silver, appearing across her body from head to tail.
Personality: Small for a gold, and unusually quiet, she rarely speaks out for herself, preferring just to keep in contact with her rider, but enjoys conversation with other dragons. If she does speak, she speaks words of wisdom, for she is still a queen and a leader at heart, she just prefers to ask rather than order, and will take advice from any quarter, whether she acts on it or not. She takes her authority quite seriously, seeing it as her job to make sure that everyone in her Weyr is OK, to the extent that she will often lose sleep fretting over another's health. She's very organised, and will meticulously make sure that everything, and everyone, is where they should be, and has no qualms of calling back any errant Weyrlings who've come down with a case of skivalitis - gently, of course. She prefers to keep her rider close, feeling a little defenceless when she's not around, relying on her for more than just safety, but peace of mind too, as her rider is the only one that can keep her mind off of Weyr matters. Ganymeth, her almost constant companion, can alleviate this stress to some extent, but his stoic presence cannot compare to the loving support of her rider.
Impressed to: Caroline (Whitey)
Reason: Two of a kind, neither Caro nor Rheath will be seen to stand by while another suffers - the Weyr will be in a deep need of that in the aftermath of the basilisks attack. And the goldpair will be there to lead the Weyr out of the depression, Rheath to pull everyone together and Caro to see her through to the end. With this heavy weight on her shoulders, Caro will have to learn to embrace her tougher side, for Rheath will need every ounce of support her rider can give, and more often than not it will be up to Caro to speak up where her dragon will not. But in doing so she must not forget that life is not so bad, for Rheath herself will need frequent reminding that she, too, must take some time off to relax and, at least for a short time, forget about the worries of her Weyr.
