Your name: Dragon Song
Character Number: 3
Character Name: Kiara
Age: 19
Birth Season: Early Autumn
Gender: Female
Rank: Candidate
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Kiara is a deadly beauty, and she knows it. Every ounce of her oozes confidence and she is well aware that almost any man who sees her wants her. This she most certainly puts to her advantage.
She walks with a very practised movement, almost a swagger some would call it. She's perfected the swing of her hips so that it's not obvious she's showing off, but you most certainly notice her. She's also exceptionally good at choosing just the right pose. She never looks like she's trying to entice someone purposefully, as everything seems very natural. But then again, it is natural to her.
Kiara's raven black hair is ramrod straight, a fact she most certainly prides herself on. She keeps it immaculately clean and brushed, and it is cut with precision to hang just above her shoulders. It highlights her delicately featured face and high cheekbones, as well as contrasting her pale complexion to give her an almost exotic look. The fact that she does not look like a common pernese person gives Kiara enormous pride. Her eyes are a rich emerald green and flash with a fire and venom most of the time. But, should she choose so, they can be soft, mysterious, innocent and inviting. But generally though they're glaring at someone; though Kiara would never let her face wrinkle into a frown - can't be doing with wrinkles now can we? Her mouth is a deep red, with soft, chiselled lips that have perfected the art of pouting. Kiara's nose is perfectly in proportion and is most certainly not one of these horribly crooked, pointed or rounded things. No, her face is perfect. Certainly in her eyes. Unfortunately it happens to be pretty much perfect in reality too.
Her fine boned, athletic and exceptionally slim frame is a tall 5'7". Kiara is continuously making sure that not on an ounce of excess fat touches her delicately toned figure and that her stomach remains as flat as a board. This does of course mean she has to do physical work but so long as she doesn't damage her nails or callous her hands Kiara considers it only a small price to pay for enhancing her image of perfection. She's not massive in the chest area, but she most certainly has a bust. She's a stark believer that her chest is in perfect proportion with her nipped in waist. Like her face, her skin is very pale, especially as she tries to keep it covered and out of the sun when she can.
Her clothes are always perfectly selected and of the highest grade she can get her hands on. Kiara is a materialist it has to be said. Blouses made of silk, light cotton or silk trousers, softly furred cloaks and muffs and gloves, glossy leather boots, velvet dresses, ornate jewellery you name it she likely has it. But that's only if it's expensive or posh. Generally she can be seen in a low cut top - not so low it seems slutty but most certainly suggestive. In the warmer months her tops are often cropped to show her midriff. Her trousers are shaped, always, to suit her figure. Commonly of a rich material, they're definitely expensive and they're mean to show it. And now onto her boots. Kiara loves her boots. She prefers the knee high leather ones in a stark glossy black, sometimes with a heel on them. Her best boots are of course, tooled leather that scream expensive. She always has at least one piece of jewellery on as well. She is rarely seen without her silver and emerald necklace fastened smartly around her neck, the gleaming gem stone casually on display to all of Pern as it rests at the nape of her neck, the twisting silver band curling round her neck.
Personality: Don't cross Kiara. It's the last thing you want to do. First and foremost she's a vengeful witch who is likely to look down upon you from the moment she meets you. Her pride refuses to let her accept that there could be someone equal to her, so if you do happen to be more important you can expect to be ignored as if you're not there. The most important thing on all of Pern is of course Kiara.
However, the worst thing about Kiara is the fact that she's exceptionally cunning. She'll use you and manipulate you for her own personal gain with no remorse or guilt what so ever. Her most common trick is to feign interest in a man she wants something from. Very, very rarely does this man actually catch Kiara's eye, generally she wants them for their craft. How do you think she has so many fine clothes and a jewelled necklace? She seduces her target, and then tricks them into giving her all sorts of amazing presents. The emerald in her necklace came from a miner, it was crafted to the necklace by a silversmith who was told the jewel was a family heirloom. And then once she's gotten what she wants she'll drop the poor besotted man like a child would a broken plaything. All she ever wants in personal gain and to be respected and longed for.
Kiara's sharp tongue and vain nature means that she has no one she can call a friend. Not one person. But that doesn't matter, there's always some dimglow who'll give her the attentions she needs, who'll dote on her every whim until she's satisfied. But she can scorn someone very easily, switching from apparent care and compassion to her true self - a selfish, narcissistic brat with scathing, barbed comments. No, you don't want to become associated with Kiara because for one thing you'll probably not be able to put up with the tongue lashings.
History: Kiara's family are traders. Not the ideal life style for someone who should be treated like a Lord Holder's favourite daughter. However, crafty Kiara long ago managed to turn this lifestyle to her advantage.
When she was born she was adored by her parents, and they never said no to her. They still never have and that suits the brat just fine. However, just because they loved her does not mean she has ever returned the favour. In fact, she has always detested her father for being a trader, and disliked her mother for being content with being his wife. But, she does not despise her mother for only one thing. Her mother gives her a claim to noble blood, and has shared this face with only her favourite daughter. It has to be said, the relation is infinitesimal. Her mother is distant relative of the Lord of Bitra though it is most likely though marriage more than anything else. But Kiara sees this as the truth about who she is. She is related to a Lord Holder. Noble blood. She has never, ever forgotten this and of course, uses it to her advantage; if a little exaggerated.
Travelling from hold to hold Kiara has had many different boys tagged along. Many still wait for her to return, believing that the only reason she left was because her family's train was moving along once again and not realising that she had left them because they had nothing more to give her. Of course, filthy roads do not suit Kiara so as often as possible she was sat on runner back or 'had hurt such and such' in order to be able to sit in one of the wagons. And sometimes she'd just plain refuse to do something, and her parents never forced her to do whatever it was. The slack could be taken up by someone else.
When her family decided to move west and settle down, Kiara was not sure whether or not to be delighted or furious. Life on the road may not have been her thing but it meant that she always could get whatever she wanted. Then again settling meant that she could perhaps begin to court someone of worth, like a holder's son. The fact that it was in the west did not please her overly, but she was taken along to Horizon hold where her family settled into a life of relative comfort. But for Kiara it wasn't enough. She could not be married to a holder's son if she lived in the west! She could not be admired by anywhere near as many! She soon began to hate the place, considering it worse than when they were on the road as they were in the middle of nowhere, but this time that was where they were staying.
She had just been beginning to plot some way to get back to the northern continent when the sight of a Search dragon piqued her interest. Yes, the Weyr. She could become a gold rider. After all, she was most certainly worthy of such a prize. And that way she could not be denied anything. Not when she was the Weyrwoman. Of course, Kiara had slightly influential hold on the rider of the dragon that eventually Searched her. But she got into Skyline either way, as a candidate. The chores did not go down well at first but it didn't take long for Kiara to be able to pass them off onto some deadglow or another. They were all the same to her. Her heart is set on a gold dragon, and she will accept nothing else. She is after all of noble blood, and thus the most deserving. Kiara eagerly awaits the clutching of a gold egg, so that she can Stand, Impress and then saunter out with her prize and ticket to power.
Future: Kiara would like to see herself as Weyrwoman with the most beautiful gold on all of Pern. DS would like to see her staked out in Threadfall. DS does not like Kiara.

Colour: Firestone Queen (292421/54220a/c09409)
Name: Skadith
Appearance: A dark coloured base, dusted with golden glimmers. Her eye ridges and headknobs are both completely gold and golden lines seem to trace around her jaw. Other evidence of her gold heritage can be seen on the front of her wing, and trailing down her tail between the ridges, down to the fork at the very end. The reddish spots and swirls are most highly concentrated around her legs and chest where the base tone is blackest, looking much as if she is smouldering away quietly. She's built like a whip, with long legs and long tail, but surprisingly her neck is a little on the short side, making her look a little odd but not hindering her in the slightest. Her tail makes up for this, being long and whip like, with unusually prehensile ends.
Personality: Quite the contrast to her golden sister and bronze brother, this little queen is loud and proud, never one to keep her opinions quiet, often briskly stating them much to the astonishment to those around her due to her roughness. Oh yes, she's not afraid to curse. In fact, she's quite bossy - she leaves no-one in doubt that she's a queen dragon, only drawing her line at bossing Ganymeth - all others are fair game. She can also not take any kind of insult well, whether it be to her, her clutch siblings, her friends or 'her' Weyr as a whole. Fearless to the point of recklessness, she takes an immense thrill from anything "extreme" or "stupid," dragging others into her fun indescriminently. This will lead many to believe her a bad leader, but if she could only calm down a little and learn to work with others then she could potentially be one of the greatest movers in the Weyr. When bored she will often choose to pester those around her, taking a perverse joy in annoying Ganymeth, simply because it angers him so. With Mundilfarith, however, she will not associate. It's quite simply not possible for her to look down on another more, scorning anything he says simply because she can't stand him and his arrogance, though what that says about her own personality others would not dare say, at least to her face. It doesn't help that she's bigger than he is, too.
Reason: Two strong personalities, it is said, will never work together. It will come as a surprise to many then, that Kiara has Impressed one of the strongest-minded dragonets in the clutch. True to form, the two will likely struggle to get on much for the first sevenday or so, but eventually they will learn to work with each other. Kiara must learn, first and foremost, that she cannot always have her own way - Skadith simply has way too much conviction to let her rider rule her life as many would, and will be as much a driving force in Kiara’s life as Kiara is in her own. Skadith will do her utmost to get Kiara in on her harebrained plans, but Kiara in turn will tone down her dragons recklessness to a more manageable level, her scheming mind bring a little more in the way of reason to the dragon. But with this reasoning, and more than a little maturity, will Skadith begin to realise her real role in the world, in ‘her’ Weyr, that of a leader. Only once she realises this will she see that to get to her goal she must work with others and not simply overshadow them. Whether Kiara will agree to this, for it is with Rheath and her rider which they must work, is up to her, but with the two queens working together the Weyr will be unstoppable.
