While Adrianyth was outside, busy flirting with some of the browns, Kylian was just sitting down in the dining cavern, the food on her plate still warm from the kitchens. Rukbat was high in the sky, and if her sense of time was correct, it was getting very close to high noon. After adjusting the bright blue silk ribbon she'd tied around some of her hair to keep it away from her face, though not completely up in a runnertail, she poked at her meal cautiously before glancing around once more, her dark brown eyes taking in all the crowd that had gathered for lunch. Her shirt was a bright green, just like she'd mentioned in the letter she left for the candidates, and as usual her hair was wild, long, and curly, so obviously she was unmistakeable. Kylian was never one to... blend well with the crowd, and she liked being ostentatious; it suited her rebellious personality. Her pants were normal, nothing spectacular about the 'hide breeches she wore, and her boots were the same as always, scuffed but comfortably worn in with lots of use. If anything, her clothes were comfortable, made for prolonged use, but with her usual flair.
With a sigh, Kylian leaned back in her chair, stretching her arms straight out and behind her head, much like a feline. A few turns ago, she'd stressed a ligament in her shoulder hauling firestone, and ever since the candidate master had grown to enjoy the feel of the muscles under her skin moving back and forth as she loosened up. Kylian was more... athletic than most women, above average for a greenrider, and as it was her body was toned and lean, but hardened with muscle. She'd never been one of those "soft" women, and as far as she was concerned, that was just fine. However, it'd gotten her many crude remarks from women and men alike, but as far as the ones who mattered to her? They obviously didn't care, and as far as Kylian was concerned the people who had something to say could shove it. She wasn't going to change who she was for anyone, even for a man.
It wasn't much longer after she'd leaned back that a few of the candidates began slowly trickling in, and Kylian folded her arms across her chest, her eyes narrowing slightly as a smirk ran across her features. She knew her bright bow was loud against the earth tones most around her were wearing, and you would think it wouldn't take long for the kids to catch onto the fact that she was the only woman sitting by herself at a table with many empty seats. Not long after she'd had that impatient thought, though, did one catch her eye and motion to the others, and soon they were headed her way. Lucky thing, really; had they been late, those stables were going to be spotless. Shea had already mentioned to her that she was welcome to get them to clean the stalls any day she liked, and well, however showed up late was going to be spending loads of their free time with the runners.
ooc// Candidates! All of you need to get your candidates here, and I'd love if you all could give me AT LEAST one post, hopefully more. These lessons aren't exactly mandatory, but they're an easy way to get posts for your characters, and right now Kylian is thinking that whoever doesn't show (without a good ooc/ic excuse, of course) will not be allowed at the Touching. Yeah, she's in that sort of mood. >> Anyway! Post away! Also, if you have a dragonrider or other weyr character, they're welcome, too. The more the merrier!

Surel groaned as he realized it was time for their first candidate lesson. He wasn’t done exploring yet! Taz chirped from his shoulder. He sprang into the air, lazily looping toward their first lesson. He crooned and gained altitude. “Get back here! Why do we have to go?” Taz chirped and zoomed in front of his partner in crime. “Fine, fine.” Surel trotted after his blue flit. There weren’t many people in the room yet and Surel shot Taz a glare.

Aethyr sipped his klah as he made it toward his first Candidate lesson. He’d finally caught up on sleep, but he sure enjoyed the warm, bite of the drink. Ilex yawned from his shoulder and draped himself more loosely. “I think you could use some of this.” The healer offered the cup for sniffing. Ilex obliged, but snorted and settled back down again. Aethyr followed a few of his fellow candidates into the room and found a seat.

Luna made her way toward the dining cavern, both to eat and attend the first candidate lesson. She couldn't wait to get started. It meant they were getting closer to the touching and to the hatching day itself. Draco sat on her shoulder with is tail wrapped protectively around her neck.
Whenever someone got too close for his liking he would his and open up his larger than normal wings. He wouldn't let anyone get near His. Luna let out a light laugh at the blue. He was so protective of her. At least she knew whoever he deemed a friend of hers would be a real friend indeed. People parted to let her pass, not wanting to incur the blues wrath.
Soon enough she had gotten herself a plate of food and something to drink. She then looked for the table the candidate master had mentioned to meet at. She quickly spotted her and headed for the table. She set her food down and took a set herself.
"Good afternoon candidate master Kylian." Draco gave a light hiss at the woman and moved closer to Luna. He didn't want anyone to get any closer. No one could touch His. He glared with red swirling eyes at the other candidates. They had better not try anything.

Candidate lessons - were they really necessary for someone like her? Kiara thought not as she flicked a brush through the ram rod straight, raven black hair. It was ridiculous that she should be forced to go to such a common thing. She should be having private tutelage if nothing else - she was the future Weyrwoman after all! And a future Weyrwoman should not be forced to endure such a thing! It was unnecessary and uncalled for. However, Kiara had more sense than to mention this to someone. No one appeared to recognize her worth and what her future held. Well, no one of merit that was anyway. The only ones who would avidly listen and agree with her weer those idiots of drudges that she charmed into doing her chores for her. They were stupid, dull witted and obviously were to smitten to realise that she was way out of their league! Still, advantage for her.
So of course, she had to go to this stupid scheduled lesson. And to add insult to injury her candidate master was a greenrider. Eugh! Though of course, Kiara was never about to let that show to Kylian. That would be a bad maneuverer with her current rank. In future though, when she had her gold, she would not be so careful about hiding her dislike of the woman.
Sauntering into the dining caverns, Kiara picked up a few sweet rolls that she could nibble delicately on whilst being forced to endure such nonsense. What would that 'woman' be spouting this time. What useless info were they about to try and press on her today? Tray balanced smartly on hand Kiara slipped into a vacant seat at the other end of the table to Kylian. No need to be closer than required. A sweet smile was worn on her pretty face - though in this candidate's case her beauty really was only skin deep. "Greetings Candidate master," she chimed in a practiced tone of politeness. Then she began to pick at her food. The other candidates were ignored - they were not worth her attention.

Try as much as Linda could think of for a reason to be away from these humans, she could not think of a proper excuse to not be at the Candidate lessons and thus ruin her chances at the hatching either. To add to her frustration, her new black fire lizard was trying to assert dominance over Cad and of course she had a few bandages on her arms. It was taking a bit but there was some progress especially when she had a good sit down and chat with them. Well not chat chat really, she wasn't one who could hear the little ones though but after awhile they had basic communication.
She woke up early in the morning, like always, getting ready for the day and had grabbed some breakfast quickly when only a few people were awake in the rising light. Taking her little dagger out for practice today inside the weyrbowl to spar with an imaginary foe. Though it didn't take too long for Po and Cad to find her and announce they were awake and hungry themselves. Flying about the top of her head trilling and whistling in extravagance, causing a smile to slowly drift across Linda's lips. Quickly and silently she had gone back to the kitchens to grab some food for the two flitters of hers as she listened to the gossip amongst the workers. Today wasn't going to be a day for idle chit chat and relaxing for her though, it never was.
After the brown and black flitters were well fed, they each went onto one of Linda's shoulders as she went out to the lake to wash then oil them. She didn't mind putting them before her own comfort, actually she found this rather soothing taking care of them. Spending most of her time before the lessons with just taking care of her two male flitters. Linda didn't even bother to change out of her slightly damp and oil spotted clothes either because Cad and Po would stain her clothes anyways from their perches on her shoulder. Slowly though she made her way to the kitchen, wiping her hands off on a rag before placing it in one of the pouches at her waist. Warily her eyes glanced around at the several people there already and the teacher. She didn't really mind the teacher much right? She was a dragon rider or something after all? She couldn't remember much but these candidates, they didn't have dragons at all or a chance at them to say what their real personalities are like. Carefully she kept a few feet distance away minimum softly cooing to Cad and Po who were equally tense hiding in her hair.

Laraik wasn't going to miss out on his first lesson so he finished his duties in the medical area before darting off to his quarters to change. He had threw on a shirt and pants to be presentable then made his way to the designated area. Not having any hair he didn't have to worry about smelling to much from cleaning and he just washed his hands and arms to get the smell off of him to make sure that he was alright. Regardless of where he was at he always was conscious of others needs and desires.
Coming into class on time he slipped into the back and ran his hand over his head. Finally he could sit down even for just a little while and enjoy himself. He did hope that these lessons would lead to a dragon. What type or color he didn't care just as long as it was his and the dragon liked him enough to be helpful. He smiled a bit and settled down in the chair waiting for the class to start looking at the others that were around him to see who all they were and to get to know them a bit before everything. He was new to the weyr and hoping this would help him get to know people better.

Unusually for Kemir, he'd only seen the notice that their first lesson was going to start today rather late; that morning, actually. Hence the fact that he'd rolled out of bed with bedhead-syndrome, unshaved, and just a little unkempt. He just hadn't bothered to spruce himself up once he'd made it all the way to the door of the barracks and to the note. Besides, he was almost late anyway.
As he strode into the dining cavern and realised, rather belatedly, that there were other people there too, he made a hasty effort to correct his hair, succeeding in rearranging it into a slightly different style of 'messy'. Ah well. Pausing at the serving counter, his hand wavered between the klah pitcher and the wine. No, klah, he told himself. This is a lesson, and if the candidatemaster catches you drinking you're done for... again. He poured himself mug of klah, wincing as a drop splashed onto his finger.
He swung around, searching for the place that he'd noticed the green-clad candidatemaster sitting at earlier, making his way over. He took a seat across the table from where she sat, with a quick "Heello," to those already gathered there. He took a slurp from his klah. "Kylian," he nodded to the candidatemaster, flashing her a smile. He may look scruffy, but he still looked damn good.

After getting directions from everyone she met on the way, Viril hurried into the kitchens and burst through the door, gasping. Everyone turned to stare, and she flushed, averting her eyes and taking a seat directly opposite whom she assumed to be the Candidatemaster. Her hair probably looked terrible, and she realized belatedly that she'd left her comb in her room.
Food soon materialized in front of her, courtesy of the kitchen workers, and Viril realized she hadn't eaten all day. She dug in, hardly paying attention to what she was putting into her mouth or the looks she was getting, assuming anyone was even looking at her.
((my post looks puny compared to everyone else's D:)
