OOC - the title is an abreviation of 'exploring', before anyone gets confused enough to ask. It came about when I was gaming, and, when asked what I was doing, I promptly replied with 'splorin'. Anywho, because of where this is located, I guess it's kind of limited who can join. So, if you want a non-Rider to join, feel free to play as if they're riding with Maurisa on Zirith. ^.- Zirrie won't mind.
Why are we out here again?, Maurisa said, leaning back from her riding position enough to adjust her flight-goggles before resuming her prior position.
Because I was bored, and you were, despite anything you said to the oppisite.
Zirith beat her wings again, and locked then, soaring for a long while on a thermal, her neck stretched out, tail curving slightly as she made a turn. The mountains passed beneath them, all shades of grey, with the odd splash of green of some hardy tree that had managed to claim a space up here. Above the green and her passengers towered mountains not even a Dragon could reach the peak of. Clouds tore themselves into ribbons upon the highest spurs of rock, and the greenrider winced as she noticed a crick in her neck from watching them.
Yes...I was bored, but that doesn't mean I really wanted to fly out from the Weyr to, well...wherever we are now.
Zirith made an odd noise, and if she could, she would have stuck her tongue out at Hers.
Oh stop complaining. You wanted to fly as much as me, and there aren't any Basilisks in the mountains.
Maursia grinned sheepishly. Had it been that obvious why she was reluctant to leave Skyline?
Yes. Yes it was. But don't worry. Your secret is safe with me.
Thanks. If her rider's reply was somewhat dry, the green didn't comment.
They flew for a littlw while longer, before spiralling down into a landing upon a ledge mostly clear of rubble. Sparse shrubs and hardy plants were scattered acorss the rock, and the dragon sniffed at them, before deciding it wasn't worth her time and looking out over the landscape again. Her passengers had dismounted, and stood beside her, looking back the way they had come.
"Wow...Skyline is quite a ways back...", Maurisa said, somewhat inanely. She had forgotten how vast the Western continent was, having stayed within the Weyr when she could help it, ever since the attack.
With a slight grimace, she stretched out her legs, ignoring the huff of laughter from Zirith. Alright, so maybe she was a little out of shape, but in her defence, there hadn't been much occassion for her to fly straight for hours. Or a motivation, she amended.
