OOC: Your rider will be assigned a wing upon acceptance of his/her profile sheet. Requests will be grated if you come up with some sufficiently delicious drama from a particular pairing.
IC: The wings have been reshuffled since the massacre, as many wings were left understrength. Since there is currently no Thread to worry about, the Wings do not actually fight, but they fly drill practise in formation. Many feel that even this in unnecessary, as Thread has been ended forever, right?

Air Wing
Normally considered the most dangerous Wing to be in, the Air Wing usually takes the highest level during Thread-fighting. They form the first line of defence against Thread, picking off whatever Thread is within safe reach. Their formations tend to be a bit looser because of this. To be in this Wing you have to be tough and courageous, with a special knack for fighting Thread and usually above average agility in the air.

Fire Wing
The Fire Wing usually fly the middle layer during 'Fall. They fight the Thread left by the Air Wing, usually focusing on taking out the largest clumps that fall. The Wing is led by the Weyrleader, placing him in the middle of the action and in easy sight of all Wings in flight while his Wing is on rotation.

Water Wing
The Water Wing normally fly below the Fire Wing, and clean up the majority of the Thread missed by Fire. This doesn't mean, however that they fight any less Thread; they instead focus on the scattered Thread that didn't fall as a clump. As a result they often fly with a larger gap between each dragon, so as to get the greatest coverage possible. Dragons that fly in this Wing usually know how to make the best use of their flame, or have a wider flame, than others.

Earth Wing
Led by the Weyrwoman and her Queens' Wing, the Earth Wing contains the Weyr's population of gold dragons and any other dragonpairs for whom fighting in any other Wing is too dangerous, such as those who are old, infirm or pregnant. They are also joined by the Weyrlings' Wing, when they are deemed old enough to fight Thread. Their main function is to clear up any Thread that has been missed by the other Wings, thus they come into contact with less Thread, and less danger, that the other Wings.

Between Wing
This Wing is made up of Weyrlings. Initially their job is to transport firestone sacks to the riders that need them, but they move up to Thread fighting a few months before graduation. They will then fly low level with the Earth Wing. This Wing is usually lead by the Weyrling Master, with his seconds being the most promising from among the bronze and brown Weyrlings. If there are more than two, Wingseconds are rotated to give everyone an experience.
