Tighearnan nodded and smiled a bit nervously. He should be used to having someone checking over his work and making sure he had done things right, but he never would be. Though he was an apprentice and knew that his skills couldn't fully be relied upon until he was a journeyman, the thought of having a Master looming over him was still nerve-wracking. Or maybe it was his self-consciousness. He was always getting the impression that he had done something wrong up until the point where they gave him the stamp of approval or commended him on a job well done. Only then could he relax...until next time.
He wished he could share the WeyrHerder's confidence in the creature. She just looked mean, with those pointed headknobs and sharp claws....He cast a worried glance at Shea, clearly uncertain. But if he said it was alright, well, maybe it was best to follow his orders. "Okay," he agreed uneasily. He still didn't want to be anywhere near the creature, especially as she stared at him with those yellow-flecked eyes. He tried to focus on the clutch, but that was difficult with everyone crowding around and a basilisk hulking right behind him.
There was a pretty pastel green taking to the air now, her little wings still a bit damp with egg fluid. She was flying towards Tighearnan! ...And then she was passing him, tumbling to the table with a loud thwack. For a moment he thought of grabbing the little creature to save her from Dusk, but Shea had insisted she would not harm him. He could only assume that meant she wouldn't harm the firelizard either, though he couldn't be completely certain. He watched her nervously as she peered into the bowl the basilisk had just finished and then she chirped at Destry. Tighearnan breathed a little easier knowing the flitter had a human to protect her from that...thing!

The blond haired girl huffed, staring at the opposite wall in silent indignation. Why, must Cassie enjoy playing with her appearance?
"Ca-" the girl started, eyes staring pleadingly at the wall in front of her.
"Hush. I'm almost done Caro." Cassie replied, grinning as she brushed Caro's hair. Caro sighed, staring down at the blue flitt in her lap.
"Why are we doing this again?" she asked, and Cassie stops and leans down to look Caro straight in the eyes.
"Don't you remember what Kiara said!?" the golden brown haired girl asks fiercly, "Today is a rest day, so we are going to prove her wrong!"
Oh how Caro wished she could forget those horrible, slicing words.
...Caroline, dear. You harbour the thoughts that you yourself could Impress a queen, because you believe in the good of the Weyr do you not? Ha! You honestly think that harper tale cliché really happens in real life? No. And let me tell you this. Queens are also beautiful. And that should be reflected in the rider. So your chances are shot before you even Stand.
Oh she just wanted to run away and hide! She wasn't good enough to Stand!! Biting her lip, Caro began to close into herself wanting to just hide like usual. But instead, a small voice inside her popped up, Why hide?
Because I'm useless.
No your not. You do more than that Kiara girl does in a week!
But she's right. I hardly have what it takes to be a goldrider...
Excuse me!? Hardworking, kind, and helpful? I'd say those are good enough qualities for any gold!
But I'm not pr-
Pretty? Beautiful? Gorgous? Sweatheart, the only reason you don't seem that way more often is because you rarely change out of your work clothes!
...
Now then. The voice purred, Are we ready to go show Kiara how wrong she is?
A resounding yes, was the answer as Caro finally realized she had been havinga mental war with herself, her bold side coming to the surface far more prominently than it had ever before as shy Caro tried to hide in her shell. Yes, Caro would show Kiara exactly who she just insulted. And just like that, the spark that was the voice of herself, ignited a burning flame inside the girl.
"Done!" Cassie said happily, examining her handywork. She had braided Caro's hair in the front, then brought it around into a runnertail that was also braided, giving Caro a braided crown as her uneven bangs hung in her face. Caro was of course clean under Cassie's orders, nails filed to her emabaressment and protesting and a branded new outfit fell across Caro's figure, curtisy of Cassie and her recently good haul in marks. She had already had the fabric, and Caro's measurments, so she just needed to enlist a weaver. Which she did. Lovely young man, very good designer.
Caro stood up, Sky held in her arms. A long flowing skirt fluttered around her long legs, showing her ankles and her slippered feet. Her shirt was tight fitting, showing off her collar bone, the sleeves huggin her arms down to her elbows. The locket Caro got from her parents comepleted the picture.
"Perfect!" Cassie cried, running up and hugging Caro, oblvious to the new spark of fire in the saphire eyes. Suddenly, Sky shifted.
"Oh, sorry Sky." Cassie, said witha grin, stepping back as the blue took to the air and then, he winked between.
"Where did he go?" Caro asked, and Cassie shrugged. Then the blue's voice sounded in their minds and both dashed down to kitchens. Reaching said kitchens out of breath, the two girls stared at the scene before them, baby firelizards Impressing and still more hatching, Sky on a chair humming away.
"Oh!" Cassie said, spotting Dusk. She smiled at the sight of the creature, oh lovely she is! And in she went.
"Hello... Shea." Caro said, walking in a faint blush on her cheeks. She may have regained some confidence from her pep talk with herself, but still it was hard to be around men in a tight fitting shirt and skirt. Automaticaly Caro made to move her head so her realeased hair fell in front of her face, but she forcefully stopped herself, grabbed a bowl of meat and sat down, looking away. She glanced up at Dawn and smiled slighty, "You have a lovely Clutch Dawn."
OOC;; Oh this is so full of fail it's not even funny. T.T Curse my tiredness! D: Sorry, this doesn't flow as well as I planned OTZ

The reddish hatchling watched its sibling fly away with interest. Ooh, that looked like a good idea. Maybe she should follow. But as she scrambled to her feet her attention was caught by a movement off to her right. Ooh, another sister. Now then, that could be much more fun than flying. Lowering her head, she retreated behind the nearest trembling egg, stalking from one to the other on her way toward the green. The forest green, on the other hand, was oblivious to the approaching threat. She was fussing, scratching lumps of egg goo off of herself. Eww! But she screamed when another gooey red creature landed flat on top of her, squishing her against the sand and knocking all the breath from her. Then she was released, gasping for air, the red flitter jumping lightly from her and prancing off further along the sand. Collecting herself enough to sit up with a dignified hiss, the green eyed the red. Ooh! She would pay for that! With a scream the green took to the air after the red, who launched herself upward too, the two entering a headlong chase around the dining cavern. The pair ducked and diver between heads, bodies, legs, tables and klah mugs as they whooshed around, whipping more than one unfortunate person with wing or tail tip on their way past. But the green was smaller and faster than her sister, and began to gain on her. Realising this, the red piped in fright, circling toward the group clustered around the fireplace and crashing headlong into Tighearnan's chest, scrabbling at his shirt in an attempt to hide behind him. The green, sensing her victory, slowed her headlong dive, cruising between the group of candidates before coming to a rest on Cassie's shoulder, where she sat preening herself. That had been far too much exercise for one of her stature. But the red had been justly punished, and now she could again turn her attention to herself. Oh, she was hungry now! This human could feed her. Unknown to the many who'd been following the chase, another egg had hatched. Quietly, not drawing much attention, the shell that had once been smooth and clear of any marks had begun to spiderweb, bulges forming where the hatchling within pushed against the wall of his prison. Flakes of shell fell to the sands as a slender foot, greeny-brown in colour, pushed it's way out, followed by its counterpart and before long a shiny head. This done, the hatchling gave a push, the rest of his body sliding from the crumbling shell. He stayed there for a moment, before pushing himself slowly up into a sitting position, hide glowing a healthy bronze in the flickering firelight. i34.tinypic.com/161x3cz.jpgColour: Red (b82314) Impressed to: Tighearnan Appearance: Striking, would be an appropriate word for this firelizard. A deep, warm crimson stains her hide from head to foot, broken only by bands of an almost pink tone, touching on her legs, tail and haunches, and then spreading across the lower expanse of her wingsails. Overall she’s... a little out of proportion. She’s about the size of a small brown, but a long body and neck contrasts with dumpy legs and tail and broad wings, giving her a slightly ungainly appearance, but one she cares little about. Personality: She’s endlessly troublesome. Always on the go and into everything, even if it’s not her buiness, Tighearnan will have to be constantly on the lookout so that he can rescue the general public from his newfound friend. Often she will choose to annoy people for the sheer thrill of it, or to relieve boredom. her broad wings give her a good staying power in the air, which she will usually use to it’s full advantage. Only once she has exhausted this, and herself, will Tighearnan have any peace as she sleeps long and deeply. i33.tinypic.com/o94e4l.jpgColour: Green (034505) Impressed to: Cassie Appearance: The most noticeable feature of this green is the almost golden yellow markings that trace along the leading edges of her wings, across her head like a tiara, curling around her forelegs like a finely crafted bracelet and finally, twining around her tail tip. She’s a darker green than her sister, a rich mid green, and very sparingly built. She’s extremely slender, to the point of being sharp in places, as though she doesn’t eat anything. Personality: It’s just as well this green doesn’t eat much, for neither does she spend much time on the move. Her favourite place in on Cassie’s shoulder, lording it over any who come near. It may be the tiara shaped marking that adorns her head, but this little green does think she’s a queen and does her utmost to act the part; she’ll either ignore you completely, as if you’re not worth her attention, or she’ll try to boss you around. If she can get someone else to do something for her, then she will, and will show no guilt whatsoever.

Cassie was hardly aware of the two flying flitts, even when they dashed around her, she was too busy studying the lovely creature that was Dusk. The golden brown haired girl became aware of the racing flitts when the red so happened to smack her in the face with a wing.
"Ow!" she hissed, rubbing her cheek. Sky flared his wings in indignation, breaking off from his humming and crooning to hiss at the red as she crashed into another's chest. Then the green was on Cassie's shoulder, asking for food. The girl shook head dazed wondering how in the world she had Impressed yet another flitt. Sighing, Cassie grabbed the nearest bowl of meat and began giving the green the food. She snatched each piece up daintly, making sure no trace of blood was left on her maw when the meat was devoured. Sky eyed the green wondering if hew as happy about this or not. After all, if the green hadn't been chasing that odd red female His wouldn't have gotten hit in the face. He shoul- Oh look another hatchling! The blue crooned at the little bronze, welcoming the male into the world, as he sent a congratulating thought toward Dawn. What a lovely Clutch she had!
"Now what should I name you..." Cassie muttered, eyes straying to where Caro sat with a whiplike mark on her cheek. Oh dear, tail in the face. Caro raised a pearly hand and rubbed the bright red mark, wincing slightly. Well that had been unexpected, but at least it wasn't a claw mark. Letting her hand fall to her side Caro watched Cassie with vague interest as she feed the little green. She was quite pretty wasn't she? After a moment, the honey blonde haired girl turned back to the Hatching Clutch, surprised to see a bronze slipping quietly out of his shell.
It seemed no one else had seen himeither, except maybe his mother and Sky. Maybe Shea. Caro studied the bronze with her light saphire eyes, very curious as to who would get him, and then looked out at the rest of the Clutch. What other surprises are left in the eggs?

Tighearnan heard a girlish scream and his head whipped around instinctively in the direction of said scream. He didn't see anyone who was obviously frightened or upset, so he had to assume that Dusk had not eaten anyone like he thought and it was actually one of the firelizards. Oh he hoped they were okay! This was already shaping up to be quite the detour. He did rather like the idea of taking a bath now. His skin was feeling a bit itchy and he knew he didn't smell like any Lady Holder's garden. But he couldn't just leave the hatching now, not when Dusk was hulking over by the exit.
Suddenly another scream rang out and two flurried shapes rose above the heads of the nearest onlookers. All Tighearnan saw was a blur of green and a blur of red. Red? That had to be a brown, then, though he wasn't sure he'd ever seen a brown that red. He didn't have much time to ponder, as the firelizards' wild chase was coming dangerously close. He didn't quite duck in time and earned a wingtip in the face, the very edge giving him a shallow cut just below his hairline. He stared in stunned silence, quietly rubbing the cut. It was bleeding a little bit, but not enough for him to bother a healer with it.
The firelizards were doubling back now and Tighearnan had no time to react before the red hit him square in the chest, extracting an "oof!" from him as it thudded into him. He hissed sharply as he felt her claws piercing his shirt and lightly scratching the skin beneath. The little creature kept peeking over his shoulder to see if the green had followed, but she was already settling on another person's shoulder. He took the opportunity to carefully extract the firelizard from his shirt, holding it out away from him. Now...what was it? He? She? He was fairly certain it wasn't a brown by now, as there were bands of a pinker color wrapped around her tail and the same color was on her wingsails. As it looked at him, he was almost certain it was a female and she chirped most innocently at him.
She decided she'd had enough 'hanging out' for now and she began to squirm in his grasp until his fingers loosened. She proceeded to claw her way up his arm and then nipped lightly at his ear. The taste was obviously not pleasant, for she began to paw at her mouth and shook her head side to side. Tighearnan smiled at her and returned to the counter where the meat bowls were. He eyed Dusk uncertainly and then carefully took one of the bowls, backing away swiftly. He began to feed the red, who was taking the most delight in playing with the leather thong he was using as a necklace. She took the food most greedily, gnawing on it briefly before swallowing it mostly whole. "Hey! You have to chew it or you'll choke, you silly creature," he chided gently. He needed a name, though. He smiled as it came to him. "I'm going to call you Kenna."

Dusk? What or who was Dusk? He had heard rumors about a strange purple creature roaming around the Weyr. One of the creatures that had murdered half the Weyr population! What was it doing down here? Jumping to see above the gathered crowed he spotted a purple head stuck in one of the bowls of meat. It was the… the… whatever it was. It didn’t look much different than a dragon except it was such an odd color. It didn’t appear vicious; then again he only got a glimpse before someone grabbed a hold of his arm to keep him still. Surel huffed and faced forward again, he never got to do the fun stuff.
While his focus had been on Dusk, the little, light green flit had Impressed. She was draped over Destry's shoulder and acting quite cute. Too cute, and he was rather happy she hadn't chosen him. A comotion down on the hearth drew his eyes to a rather wierd colored flit. Red? He'd never heard of a red flit. Of course his father thought any sort of archive learning to be poposterous, so he'd only heard rumors and the like.
He watched as the red flit snuck up behind it's clutch mate and pounce. Surel grinned as the pair launched into the air, now that was an exciting pair. Their wild flight to and fro was entertaining to watch. That was until the red's wing whacked him in the eye and the green's tail thrashed his nose.
He nearly dropped his bowl of meat and glared through one eye at the green as she flittered around in victory and was glad she wasn't his. He turned toward the red as he rubbed his injured eye. She really was an unusual color, bright in somplaces, dull in others or downright pink. It seemed this clutch had a few suprises in store. The move to the Weastern Continent had certantly been a good move, there was so much more here to learn and explore.
Surel's gaze shifted toward the eggs once again and saw a amazing bronze glide out of it's cracked shell. The flit pushed itself up and sat there almost reagally. Surel quickly uncovered his smarting eye to watch and see who it would go to. After all, four had already hatched, surely one would pick him soon. He eyed the large crowd and scooted forward slightly, yes one would.

((Just a quick one for you today, I've mad three posts today at least ;D)) J'thir needed klah, badly. Wandering purposefully down from his weyr to the kitchens he bumped into more than one drudge or rider, eventually giving up with his mumbled apologies. Oh why did his weyr have to be so far from the kitchens? That's what you got for being a wingrider, even if you had been a wingsecond in the recent past. But he was hardly a mere wingrider anymore. He briefly considered that he could probably move himself to one of the Weyrleader's weyrs, seeing as that was the job he was doing nowadays, but cast it off as just another thing that could wait until his life calmed down. Even if it did mean a five minute walk for a mug of klah. Entering the kitchens his attention was immediately drawn by a commotion over by the hearth fire. He was forced to duck suddenly as the commotion swept past him in the form of two young flitters, barely out of the egg by the looks of them. Riki hissed at them from his perch on J'thir's shoulder, ruffling his wings as he resettled. Grabbing the pitcher and pouring himself a mug of steaming klah - at least it was fresh and hot this time - he mad his way over to the small crowd. Spying Shea, it clicked in his mind - Dawn's clutch! How could he have forgotten? Quite easily, his dragon quipped from his weyr ledge. How so? he asked, taking a seat besides the WeyrHerder, cradling his mug in his hands as the fire warmed his arm. Shea looked up, smiling his welcome, but turned his attention back to the eggs. You're working to much. You need to sleep more, the bronze chided. J'thir ignored him, knowing that it was true. His bronze was right, he did need more rest. The Weyr could wait for an hour he decided, settling to watch the rest of the hatching as it unfolded. Of the eggs themselves, there were few left, no more than 10, and several of them were showing no sign of movement. Neither was the bronze, for that matter. He seemed quite content to bask in the warmth of the fire and regain his energy. But as if to prove him wrong or force him to move, the egg next to him which had been quivering for a good while now suddenly toppled, falling right onto the bronze. He jumped back in alarm, but soon settled again, looking at the egg curiously. It wriggled around a little more as pieces began to fall from the tip. Suddenly the egg cracked open from the up-facing side, revealing a struggling blue flitter. After a moment of writhing in the sand, the blue righted itself, stopping to shake the sand from his hide. This not working, he scratched at it briefly with a hind foot, muttering in irritation. But it itched! The blue leapt into the air, searching for something which may help him rid himself of the sand. He finally settled himself on Surel's head, rubbing his back against the boy's mass or curly dark hair. That done, he plopped himself into the bowl that the boy still clutched, choosing the biggest chunk of meat he could find and took it, still dripping, onto Surel's shoulder, where he proceeded to nibble it. i53.tinypic.com/jtq889.jpgColour: Blue (1d7b83) Impressed to: Surel Appearance: Dark aqua covers this blue’s hide from nose to tail, with ripples of various shades on the in between. Like waves cresting the shore, the blue meets a spattering of white at his wing tips, draining them completely or colour. As blue’s go, he’s not especially small, but there have been bigger. However, as his clutchsiblings go, this flitter has probably go the best proportions. Everything fits perfectly, flowing seamlessly from one to the other. Personality: Like many of his sisters this blue seems to have a constant supply of energy, a must have for him to follow Surel everywhere he goes. He is as endlessly curious as his human, rarely passing up an opportunity to investigate some far gone nook or cranny, particularly if it looks like food may be at the end of it, and will prove to be more than a match for any unsuspecting tunnelsnake he may meet on his forays. But despite this, the blue is not hyper, rather he takes a laid back attitude to life. He doesn’t rush, but get’s everywhere eventually at whatever speed he feels like on that particular day.

Nothing happened to Theo when she saw the light green flitt hatch and impress. But when the next green hatched she flinched, its dark green hide reminding her of Korath. She shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts. Korath was dead and she couldn't expect the green to come back.
Her eyes where dull as she watched more eggs hatch. When the red flew off and was chased by the green she simple moved to the side to dodge them. She still had her rider reflexes so it was easier for her, though not so much for a few others. They had been clipped by the wild flying flitts.
She turned her eyes back to the eggs and watched as a bronze and a blue hatched. The blue impressed but the bronze just stayed where it was at. Theo stepped a bit closer, wondering if the remaining eggs would be duds or would they hatch.

"Come on Brother, I hear them, Hurry up sheesh!!"
"I'm coming I'm coming, what do you hear though? what are we do-"
The elder males voice stopped soon as they showed up into the Kitchen, oh so that is why his little sister practically dragged him as soon as they landed outside. He was still in his dark brown riding gear unable to take anything off before his Sister dragged him off. ~Mine, where did you guys go? Do I have to do anything anymore?~{no go ahead and go sunbathe or something, you have earned it.} B'man couldn't help but smile as he heard the soft rumble of thanks reverberate through his head from Biaznth as the Brown went to go find a place to relax.
A brown Fire lizard darted into the room though and started to circle around the younger girl that was with the tall rider before diving down to land on her shoulder. Quickly hiding himself amongst her long brown hair wrapping his tail around her neck. Her green eyes brightened as she saw the hatching of these cute little ones, she had a feeling there was something happening but it looked like there was still some eggs on the hearth. Quickly she took hold of her Brother's hand again and dragged him over to the crowd, though she just kind of gave a little nod to the others there without a word. Glancing over at the Hatching with a slight frown... some of the eggs weren't hatching, didn't these people know how to take better care of their eggs? Oh well she will try to see what happened afterwards, quickly she looked about and frowned when she didn't see any ready food for the hatching flitters.
Oh well she was ready for such a dilemma, quickly she reached into one of her pouches at her belt and pulled out some dried meat. Handing her Brother a few before Quickly biting off some pieces and pre chewing it before spitting it back into her hand. "Come on Brother, do that they can't eat dried up meat. And won't come to you if you don't have any food. You know how Cad is sometimes helpful during bath time for Biaznth." B'man just grinned a little bit and gave a little nod, chewing up small pieces as he pulled off his gloves and placed them under his arm before putting the chewed up meat in them.

((No more posts yet? You can interact behind the scenes here, guys, it's not against the law )) The bronze, sitting alone in the sands by the fire, hadn't moved much for a while. Resting from the ordeal that had been hatching, no doubt. Inevitably he would have o do something, move somewhere, at some point. But that point was coming... coming... commmm-aaaahhhhh ok, he might as well move now. Rising to his feet he spread his wings out wide on either side of him, stretching them out as far as they could go. And what wings! Much as the wings of the first blue to hatch had been magnificent, so were his, for they glowed in the firelight a deep, burnished gold, as rich as if it had been newly smelted. He tok a few steps forward, his gait bouncy, ungainly almost. The bronze seemed to realise this too, for he looked most distinctly unimpressed. Why was walking so difficult? Maybe flying would be easier... within a few downstrokes he was in the air. Ah, this was better! But still a lot of effort. Tiring even... With little preamble, the bronze headed down, coming to a stop with a ruffle on Caro's shoulder. He settled there, eying her gently. She'd do, but what was that delicious smell? He looked away, sniffing, then down into Caro's lap. Meat? Food! Oh, but it was so far away, and he didn't want o move again. He wanted to sleep, but he wanted to eat too... he gave a disgruntled rumble, tail tip twitching to and fro like an agitated feline's would do. Of the eggs, nothing seemed to happen for a long time. About half of them were still shaking, jigging from side to side, but none hatched for a good half-minute. Then, all at once, two things happened. Too eggs, to be precise. Only a fraction of a second apart, two of the active eggs cracked open, revealing the nature of the flitts within. Out of one burst two wings, each as black as pitch, followed by a single wing and a head from it's neighbour, a deep ashen grey in hue. The two firelizards struggled with their casings for a few seconds, the thick shards falling to the sand around them as body parts emerged, each as dark as the rest. Eventually out of their shells, the two flitts eyed each other suspiciously, one hissing and the other replying likewise, eyes glowing red and orange. Slowly, they began to circle one another. i56.tinypic.com/eknx2s.jpgColour: Bronze Impressed to: Caro Appearance: He’s a sturdy little bronze; not particularly large as bronzes go, but well built. He’s a classic shade, a greeny-gold with a metallic shine that darkens to a greeny-brown on his legs, tummy and tail. His wings, however, are gold - pure burnished gold, not a trace of green to be found on them. These wings draw attention to themselves - they can’t help it - and away from the rather stumpy little legs that this bronze possesses. One in particular, is shorter than it should be, his right foreleg, but since this bronze dislikes walking around for extended periods it doesn’t really bother him. Personality: He’s a rather lazy flitt, preferring to sit on Caro’s shoulder or on something soft if she’s not going anywhere than being active. And when he does go somewhere, he prefers to fly. As calm as he is lazy, he takes the world as it comes, and is slow to anger. When something does tick him off though, he will hiss, spit, rant and rave, but won’t get violent. He prefers to be the peacemaker in any argument, and will not hesitate to gently admonish any other flitt that he sees as causing a hubbub. He’s very friendly and will take attention from any quarter, giving as much love in return as someone is willing to give, if not more.

Theo watched as the bronze hatchling finally decided to move. He didn't seem to like walking so he flew over on to a girls shoulder. Theo was a glad it didn't decided to go between. After Korath's death she had started to hate the thought of something else going between for good, it reminded her to much of her pain.
When two of the eggs burst at once Theo turned her attention back to the hatching. When she saw the two flitts circling each other with their eyes swirling red she stepped forward. "Stop, you will not harm each other." He voice became hard and her grey eyes seemed like steel. She would not let these hatchlings hurt themselves. She would not let them go between.

(Sorry for the lateness!)
Surel watched with fascination as one of the eggs suddenly toppled onto the lazy bronze. In his opinion if the flit was just going to lay there he deserved to be startled. The egg revealed another blue. The appearance of ripples along his hide, were unusual as was the white tips on his wings.
Of course the last thing Surel expected was the flitter to fly straight at him. It had fallen onto the sand and looked like it was trying to rub himself, Surel didn’t think he would suddenly decide to use his hair for a scrub brush!
“Ow!” He snapped as the blue wallowed in his curls.
The flit ignored him and plopped right down into his bowl, and after selecting a piece he climbed up Surel’s shoulder. Almost as if apologizing for his earlier behavior.
“It’s alright.” Surel replied, reaching up to give the blue a scratch. “You are certainly wonderfully colored aren’t you? And just the right size to be my exploration partner.”
The flit crooned and crawled down his shoulder to the bowl to grab another piece.
“What to name you though?” The candidate, ran his hand along the soft hide.
Surel had never been one for naming thing for obvious characteristics. “Teriz? Pas? Taz?”
The blue tilted his head and gave a questioning warble.
“I like Taz the best too. Welcome to the Weyr Taz!”
The newly named Taz just gave a belch and stuck his head into the meat bowl, scarffing down what was left.
________(J'len and Liresk)_________
J’len was taking slow measured steps toward the kitchens. He was going to get a cup of klah. Now someone else probably would’ve gotten it for him, if he had waited a few candlemarks. It wasn’t like he was a cripple, he could walk and talk, he didn’t need a sitter. Liresk looked up at him and snorted. Is that why it take twice as long to get there, J’len? The ex-dragonrider gave the basilisk a glare. The pipsqueak's sentences were improving quickly, but they still had some work to do. Yes. He replied blankly. They both started when they heard the blue announce the flit eggs were hatching. What are flits J’len? Small dragons. Really? Can we see? Liresk didn’t wait for permission, he just grabbed J’len’s sleeve and began to gently, but firmly guide him towards the hatching.
J’len’s thigh was starting to throb again and the muscles in his back and leg were quivering as they entered the kitchens. This was the first time he’d actually been out of the infirmary, not that he’d tell anyone that. He had an image to up keep. Almost there J’len. Liresk gently assured him. There were so many people gathered around the hearth and they could hear hisses a growls coming from somewhere. The little cousins fight. More eggs are to hatch. J’len noticed J’thir had settled himself on one of the nearby tables and Liresk was steering him straight to it. With a low groan J’len gently lowered himself down onto the bench. J’len okay? Liresk put his head on his bonded’s knee and stared up at him. I’m fine. Don’t you want to see the hatching? Yes, but there are people in the way and it is rude to shove them away. If one picks you then I will get to see. And you wouldn’t be jealous? I have you. Why would I be jealous? The basilisk turned toward J’thir and chirped in greeting.
“Hello, Sir.” J’len greeted the bronzerider.
A few people had noticed his and Liresk’s entrance but J’len ignored them. It was none of their business where he went anyway. Liresk settled next to him and they waited together.

Dusk snapped lightly at a flitter tail as the chase of the red and green flitters brought them too close to her for her liking, before proceeding to watch them with both suspicion and curiosity as they darted round the room. They were... interesting, to say the least, if annoying. Whilst not fully recalling the details of what had happened when she'd first arrived at the Weyr, she still associated flitters with Dawn, Dawn with hissing and with Shea, and Shea was still associated with bad. She seemed to have a distinct ability to bear a grudge against someone, even if not remembering quite what for. Who knew how long it would take her to get over this current one, if at all.
She blinked as the red flitter crashed into the chest of the person who'd been looking at her fearfully, then snorted. Maybe that would distract him from the fact that he was scared of her. Ridiculous. She still didn't fully understand why people were quite so terrified of her. She understood that they thought she was dangerous, and was grasping the concept that she was a lot different. People feared change and difference she'd come to realise. But she didn't quite get it. After all, the dragons could be dangerous but no one feared them. These little firelizards had already caused some yelps and complaints, and yet people weren't afraid of them. Why was she so different? She wasn't going to attack unless provoked, just like any animal. Stupid, she concluded. Sheer stupidity cause fear. So the people who weren't scared of her were smart. She could put up with them, if they were smart. Stupid ones though... she'd just avoid them.
More people were entering, not very many of hem noticing her. Dusk figured that it was probably for the best. She preferred to be unnoticed anyway - that was why during the day she lay under R'fel's bed rather than on it, as she'd prefer to. During the night when there were very few people in the infirmary she'd clamber up and lie beside him because then less people saw her and there was less fuss. She lay down under the table, some of her view blocked but able to see enough to satisfy her. From where she was she saw the flash of blue as it flew to a shoulder, and then eventually the lazy bronze too. The sound of hissing caught her attention and she instantly stiffened, automatically becoming defensive and on guard. It was a pair of flitters, circling and hissing at each other. She pushed herself to her feet once more and crouched under the table, ready to move should she need to with her yellow flecked eyes fixed on the hissing pair.
But then, there was a distraction for her. Liresk came into her view, and her attention flicked from the little flitters to the sapphire basilisk. Liresk was like her, and about as liked. She straightened a little but remained alert with half an eye focused on the brewing fight. She considered saying hello to Liresk - for her was the only one like her - when a voice in her head interrupted. So many distractions! Dusk? Where are you? What are you up too? It was R'fel. He was obviously much more alert now, she'd just been paying enough attention to notice. Not trust Dusk? she asked innocently, her spech not as far on as Liresk's but improving rapidly, possibly because she didn't communicate or listen to others as much as the Sapphire. She still referred to herself in the 3rd person too. Where are you? What are you doing? R'fel merely repeated what he'd asked before. In kitchens. Dragon said about little cousins hatching, so Dusk came see. Curious. But find little cousins boring. Liresk and Liresk's just come, was maybe going to talk, she explained. R'fel was silent for a moment. Dusk was at a flitter hatching? That couldn't be good - there'd be lots of people there and very few trusted the basilisks. She was bound to get into trouble. Dusk able to stay out of trouble. Under table. Few people seen Dusk, she supplied. That didn't make him feel huge amounts better. Who's is the clutch? he asked her, not quite able to remember though he knew he should know. Dusk... who's is the clutch? he asked again, more firmly this time when she refused to answer first time. Shea's, she replied grumpily, waves of dislike radiating from her. R'fel sighed audibly. He had yet to find out why she disliked one of his friends so much, but he would, and he'd sort it out. The last thing he needed was Dusk holding grudges. Still, if it was Dawn's clutch maybe he should go see... No! Dusk's not well enough to be moving! Dusk's stay, rest! Dusk, I'll be fine. No! Her command was more forceful this time, and accompanied by a small hissing growl even though R'fel couldn't hear it. Hers was not going anywhere until she said he was well enough! What if he hurt himself some more? She could feel the edges of protest and clamped down on her rider, wordlessly ordering him to stay in bed. It didn't take long before she won. Fine, I'll stay here. But Dusk? Tell Shea congratulations for me, and say I'll hopefully get a chance to speak to him soon. No. That wasn't so much commanding as defiance. Dusk did not want to speak to Shea! Not at all! Dusk, it's that or I come tell him myself. What?! No, that wasn't fair! Dusk plunked her rear end back down on the ground under the table, most distinctly in a huff and looking like a pouting child. Grumbling internally to herself, she relented enough to grumpily speak to Shea. Shea. Dusk's say congratulations. Hopes for chance to speak to soon.[/b] Her tone was clipped and irritable. But at least Hers was staying where he was meant to. That was more important at the moment.

Sky purred as another blue like himself Impressed, granted a much more handsome blue than himself, but he didn't really care about that at the moment. He would care when there was a Flight, but right now no. Whirling eyes glanced over to the green now sitting on His's shoulder, taking meat daintly from Cassie's fingers. This, could be a problem. The green did not look like she was very friendly.
Cassie however, was enjoying the little green very much, whom she had named 'Forest' for the dark green adorning most her body. Forest had sniffed at the name, looking at Hers as if she was crazy, but Hers had refused to budge so she was stuck with 'Forest'. She better be getting a better nickname at last! Wrapping her tail around Cassie's neck, Forest fluttered her wings giving in to the temptation to show off a bit, before deciding she was full... Wait, no. Last one. Yes, now she was full. Giving a huge yawn that revealed rows of sharp teeth, she unwound her tail, and then daintly curled her whole body around the girl's neck, wings pulled tightly to her slender body. Tail replaced higher on the neck, she watched sleepily as a blue Impressed and then a bronze. Oh, Hers knew the other girl. Maybe she'd go over to her later, should be interesting. But for now, her two hissing clutchsiblings were become a very amusing sorce of entertainment for her.
A beautiful wave washed blue Impressed, after basicly running over it's clutchbrother really. The bronze didn't seem to mind though, staring at the egg curiously as Caro watched the two. Eyes still on the blue, she barely registered when the bronze landed on her other shoulder eyeing her gently. Startled, she turned to look at the bronze surprised as his tail twitched while his eyes stared at the food. Still hardly daring to believe she ahd gotten what seemed to be the only bronze in the Clutch, Caro grabbed a piece of meat and handed it to the bronze, who gratefully snatched it from her hand and gobbled it down. What a lovely bronze he was, with wings like burnished gold. She wanted to touch the glowing wings, the bronze catching the drift of her thoughts, crooned happily and stretched one beautiful wing out and allowed His to touch it.
"Such lovely wings..." Caro said smiling as she handed him another meat piece. Chirping, the bronze snatched the meat once more, and folded his wing back in place gently telling Caro that yes, he would like a bath later. Getting knocked around byehis sibling was tiring, and nto only that but he had just hatched! Baths would fix that! But first, food then a nap. Caro quirked an eyebrow at the images, working her way through them. Thankfully she had been around Sky long enough to translate the flitter language, and understood most of it.
"Name, name. I need a name for you." Caro muttered to herself, feeding the bronze, hardly aware of the hatching flitts. "Darit. You shall be named Darit." The bronze simply snatched up another piece of meat, letting his now non-twitching tail, brush against Caro's face in acknowledgement. Oh look, more clutchsiblings... Hissing and spitting. Oh dear. They hadn't even done anything to each other and look at them! Chirping lightly, Darit was so totally ready to tell them off, gently of course and don't forget nicely, when a human stepped forward. Silly, silly human. Flitts like his clutchsiblings listening to her? That was not going to happen, he could tell. But if she wanted to try, he might as well keep eating. But still... Eyeing the black and gray flitts for a moment, Darit thought it over. Should he? That would take energy. But then his siblings would start a fight and really that human couldn't probably handle it. See this is what happens when someone else tries to be peacemaker around Darit, he gets lazy again. Oh Shells. Fine, fine. He'd scold them a bit. Fluttering his wings much as his sister Forest had, the bronze chirped a bit louder down to his siblings, not really wanting to leave Caro's shoulder. Tipping his head at the hissing flitts, he chirped again, a bit more forcefully and sent a thought along with it. No more fighting, time to eat. No reason to fight.
OOC;; Wow sorry for this lateness. Love the bronze Spiffy, I'ma try to get into his persona a bit more, sorry if that was a bit off XD I loved how you played him o3o

The two black flitts continued to circle each other as Theo approached them, giving her no more than a cursory glance. She meant little to them, then or otherwise. Right now all that mattered to them was each other. Eyes locking back to the others, they continued to stare at each other as they made their slow way between the eggs, glaring, calculating, unblinking. Then a distraction. Another one, this time another flitter. The larger of the two, the jet black one, who was facing the direction of the crowd, lashed his tail in annoyance. Bronze? Pah, who was he to tell him what to do? He kept his eyes locked on the grey flitt, eyes revolving rapidly now. The other though, seemed less incensed by the bronze than its brother, showing little outward sign of acknowledgement than a brief flick of its tail. But then the rigidity left her, her spine relaxing, wings lowering slightly, and she settled on her haunches to lick some sand off of her paw. The jet did likewise, relaxing and sitting to gaze around at the others, the red fading from his slowing eyes. He turned his head however, to regard the next egg, which began to fall to pieces around its captor. In a second or two a pale, ghostly hatchling spilled out of the egg, standing quickly to shake itself off the remaining eggshards. He glared to the blacks either side of him, before launching himself into the air toward the nearest human - Theo, taking a hold of her shirt and proceeding to pull her back, away from the eggs and the blacks still sat there. What had his been thinking, getting between the two of them! Madness... The larger black watched the pale one with interest, eyes now green instead of red but soon grew bored of that. He turned his attention to the rest of the crowd, scanning them until he found a direction that smelled particularly attractive. Attention caught he fluttered into the air and in the direction of the food. He spotted another flitter, a brown. Hmm, he'd do, he could share his human. With a flutter of his wings the black settled on Linda's shoulder, across from the larger brown. She had the tastiest smelling food anyway. i51.tinypic.com/zsk2et.jpgColour: Fade Impressed to: Theo Appearance: A very strange little flitter, it’s not immediately obvious what colour he is. At first glances it may seem to be a cream colour, but on closer inspection his hide looks to be made up of several different colours. Here, a green, there, a blue, all overlaying a base coat of brown, but so pale! It’s almost as if someone’s thrown all the colours at this little flitt and then doused him in water, so that they all look washed out, faded, and in places it can be seen to bleed from one colour to the other in a drip-like pattern. His size, too, is a bit of a mismatch. With the overall size of a small blue, this flitt possesses a bulky, strong chest, perched awkwardly on fine, feminine legs, topped by a set of wings that look far too small for him, though finely crafted in their own right. So too is his head a little on the small side, set upon a serpentine neck, ending with a very long, prehensile tail. his exact gender is a bit of a mystery, for while he seems to identify as male, he possesses both sets of genitals. Personality: A curious site for many, but distinctly uninquisitive, this firelizard seems happy to just let the world roll by. You could do almost anything to it, pick it up by it’s tail, poke it, bitch about it, it’s impossible to provoke... directly. For here’s the contradiction: it doesn’t seem to care what you may do ti it, but even think of touching Theo, and it’s a whole different ball game. You see, that’s the sole purpose of this flitt as it sees itself: to guard Theo, to always be there for her, and to be a calming influence on her life. It’s inactive because it’s watching, eavesdropping on your next move, anticipating the time when danger may threaten it’s human, in physical or psychological form, and when it does it’s like someone’s thrown a switch inside this flitt. Threaten Theo and it becomes a wher on defense of it’s Hold, flying at you teeth and claws drawn, no questions asked, yet if it is memories that plague her, it will become the sweetest of spice, there for her and only her to wash away the fear. It is for this reason, maybe, that this flitt harbors a hatred of anything green, human, flitt or dragon. i51.tinypic.com/2la572p.jpgColour: Black (000000) Impressed to: Linda Appearance: Jet black from head to foot, the only mar on this male's hide is a strip of dark grey going from between his wing, down his tail to the very tip where, just before the end, it reaches out around the tail like small misplaced ribcage. Small bronze size, medium build. Personality: Arrogant, quiet, suspicious, highly sensitive, slightly morbid, intelligent. Seems to know something is going to happen before it actually does.
